this music is dieing

omg, i'm pretty sure theres hundreds of threads about this

but this music is DIEING

theres too much shit out there which people would kill for the ID

you know what I'm talking about, cookie cutter beats, siren sounds behind a hot female vocalist and a slight hint of piano rolls, only difference is the melody in each track.

PvD is starting to play it again, AvB, Tiesto, etc...are playing it

I mean, i just visited the unknown tracks board, and most of the "OMG ID THIS NOW" has that same old melodic heavenly siren synth.

here some examples:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=283877

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=283510

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=283602

all three of these contain some gate delay filters on the same sounding synth.

Even worse, I just downloaded random tunes from TT, and deleted it after the first listen.

the only few people keeping me in this genre, PvD's productions, second sun, deep dish, gabriel and dresden, BT...these people (to the best of my knowledge) have yet to produce a track within the terms I have been describing. (sure empire may fall into it, but I blame those two other guys that left second sun, and it really isn't cheesy when compared to the others)

why do people love this?

if a lot of music is sounding similar, blame it on the shrinking world resulting from the telecommunications revolution.

If you're sure there are hundreds of threads discussing this topic, why did you create another stupid topic to rehash it again instead of using an old one?

People have been saying it's dying since 2000. all music sounds like the genre it is included in. all punk rock sounds the same, all heavy metal sounds the same, all rap sounds the same... etc.

...and do you know what else is out of fashion? Breathing.

Yeah, so many people have stopped doing it (although they did get put underground soon after), so it must be the cool thing to do nowadays.

Your cutting sarcasm is redundant simply because I'm not saying anything to be cool. I'm saying it because it's fucking happening.

...and how long have people been saying this? Shortly after the dawn of time if I remember. Yet people keep making the music, and people keep listening.

Posted by Floorfiller on Aug-09-2005 14:26:

i'd just like to point out that if you are placing dj's and producers like paul van dyk and second sun as the only one's saving the genre...then i'm afraid its already too late for you...

So what? It may not die, but it's definitely getting significantly more shit.

Posted by Saka on Aug-09-2005 15:32:

Yes,I have falso found it happening in a few other genre's,including commercial house, and funky house if those are the right terms.
It's all going downhill, and nothing really I can see will stop it.

Posted by r5a on Aug-09-2005 17:05:

Do I give a shit? Nope. Will I keep listening? Yes.

You need to discover the world of EDM more.
