the UN is* powerless
Iran has a right to develop nuclear technology.
"All we want to do is to produce nuclear fuel and we are prepared to provide credible assurances to our European partners that we will not divert this to other purposes"
the US and Britain are calling for tough action against Iran.
history is repeating itself it seems ...

Originally posted by cap Did you forget about the pearl harbour attack from Japan on America. This was an unprovoked, pre-emptive strike where innocent people were also killed. Also, europe is pressuring Iran to shutdown nuclear facilities... and they are asking the US for support, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Originally posted by Q5echo absolutely correct. however they do not deserve the ]priviledge of building bombs. to protect the lives of millions in barring an invasion. you sound like the japanese empire was some innocent bystander during the 30's and 40's. get real. who's they? the Brits? the French? the Russians? the Chinese? the IAEA? we don't talk to Iran. they do. you should STFU. get outta here. learn some history.

you got me
yes, i am a death mongerer. nothing pleases me more than to see horrific images of badly burned Japanese children.
yes. it is a priviledge (for lack of a better word). if you have a better word to describe what Iran's self-professed vision of owning them (nukes), then i'm all ears.
Pakistan. Israel. India. it's too late, but i will not accept more proliferation. i don't care who it is. the world be damned if historically responsible gatekeepers of nuclear proliferation stand idley by while Iran, of all countries, develops unchecked.
you don't trust my country or the other gatekeepers? fine. i can't change that as much as i can't take back what happened to innocent Japanese children. i'll let my county's history of nuclear checks and balances since 1945 do the talking. because god knows we have had every oppurtunity to use them given the chance
however, i plead to you, do not let Iran go unchecked if you can help it. i don't care where you're from. i don't care if you hate me and what my country stands for. stand up and scream "NO!" to Iran's efforts. you think we can't be trusted? try trusting Iran with nukes.

That's worse than American's being brainwashed by Bush.

Originally posted by Q5echo however, Iran does not need to even think it has that priviledge.

Take a look this btw,it shows their millitary capabilities. http://www.csis.org/burke/mb/041208...lCapExecSum.pdf |

Originally posted by cap Israel actually orginally acted against the interests of the US and used the Mossad to steal nuclear materials out of America without their consent. Israel has actually manipulated and deceived America(and everybody) many times my friend, don't always assume they have worked together.

However, given the fact that Israel is surrounded by sworn enemies, it is to be expected that they use all methods at their disposal to survive.

You are right though, Israel shouldn't. But how is adding nuclear technology to more countries and potentially erupting an arms race the solution?

Originally posted by Q5echo for a lot of reasons that cap eluded to in his post above. ask yourself, if Israel had lived in peace since 1950 (i realize this may be a stretch for you, but humor me) all this time, do you think they would have them today? it's a false question but Iran seems to always be behind the real answer. thats why they're Iran. and that's why Iraq and Afghanistan are the way they are now...less than what they will be, if my country has anything to do with it.
