VST Bass
So this is a question that has probably been asked a million times but hey I want a go...
VST's like vanguard, vstation are superb for leads. Except I'm yet to find one that satisfy's my needs for heavy deep bass's.
What VST's do you peeps use for good quality bass ?
Bass is in the place London !
Arturia Minimoog is a very nice VST for basses. Use it sometimes myself, and I bet a lotta other do.. Vanguard can be used as well, though.
NI 53pro is quite allright too!
..
Albino 2.1 can also make great basses. I use it quite a bit.
Try Audio Realism Bassline
fm7, v-station and bass-station are also nice for basslines
I like to use zeta, even though it may be a bit overqualified :P
synth1, mda jx 220, triangle II
Best plugins:
- Albino 2
- z3ta+
- ABL
Worst plugins (despite what you may have heard):
- V-Station
- Cameleon
- Pro-53
Of course this applies specifically for basslines - as we all know, different instruments will shine for different purposes.
I haven't tried the Moog emulators but I know the Moogs themselves are kick ass for basslines, so the emulators might be good too. Technically I wouldn't count these types of VSTs as "software", since they are recreations of hardware, and hardware is almost always better for thick and chunky bass. But whatever you call them, they are still very good.
FM7 can produce some of the more old-school basslines, but nothing too flashy.
You're simply wasting your time with anything else, especially the free stuff (I use lots of free plugins, but never for basslines).

| Originally posted by Elemental I have to disagree. Didn't hear Cameleon, but I can say that V-Station and Pro-53 are very good for basslines. If you didn't learn how to make some good basslines on V-Station or Pro-53, doesn't mean that the plugins are bad. V-Station can make some deep basses.. really DEEEEEP. |
Synth-1 and VB-1 for basslines that cut through a mix (not the deep rumbly kind)
