Lower house election in Japan
For those of you that have been following the saga of the privatization of Japan Post, it has finally came to a head:

"After losing a crucial upper-house vote on privatising Japans postal monopoly, the prime minister, Junichiro Koizumi, has called a snap election, triggering a civil war in his own party and taking the country into uncharted waters..."

Man, I really wish Koizumi gets away with it. He looks like he could kick anyone's arse by just blinking his eye, and he likes heavy metal so that means he drinks blood as well. I mean, look at this:

This Okada person doesn't stand a chance. Besides, Junichiro's got this Lion King thing with his hair.
On a less dumb note, it's going to be really interesting to see what happens if the LDP weakens. And I found the last bit entertaining too:

| Mr Koizumi took office in 2001 promising to ?gchange the LDP, change Japan?h. Depending on the outcome of next month?fs election, he may finally succeed in fulfilling the first half of that pledge. |
Looks like reforms are gonna go through ![]()
