Hey all....

Im curious... Does anyonw know the universal symbol of Trance?

I thinking of tattooing it on me...

someone told me it looks like ' SS ' (double Ss') but on a horizontal plane..

This is the only other decent party coming up that I would be interested in going to. Thank god it's not gonna be at Laga. The only place I can think of with 3 rooms in Pittsburgh would be the paintball arena.

I don't think it is acepted by the whole community as the universal symbol of trance however the symbol you're referring to is the sign for the mantra OM (from buddism I believe) ... Someone may have gotten this impression from GOA party flyers where it is present farely often...

if I were you I'd think about getting that tatoo only because the symbol is also religious in nature and carries other meanings (good meanings so far as I know .. enlightenment (I'm no authority on buddism though) ) than solely trance (if that is what people consider it means) however it also carries the weight of you identifying yourself as having buddist beliefs.. i only mention this because I think it's comperable to having a tatoo of a cross, star of davide, etc. etc. you may not what this conotation..
.. on the other hand i've thought that might be a tatoo which I might get if ever I got a tatoo .. sooo..

I've never been to Laga. Maybe once and that was three or so years ago. I live in oakland and I hate all the bars there. Hell Pgh is so behind the times I can't stand it.

I've heard rumors about some bigger names coming to that new place in station square (rock jungle?) - which doesn't play some half bad tunes. alot of clubby progressive stuff - but every so often the DJ sneaks in a great track or two. plus the girls there are hot. I don't know where they've been hiding.

Then there is also a new place downtown thats 18+ called Club Level - 333 fourth street. (cross street is Wood) Open til 4am. Some of the DJs you listed for that party are scheduled to spin there as well.

Heh you're right about that. Anyway I heard that level is the old Pittsburgh Stock Exchange building and that it's done up really really nice with marble walls and crap like that. The only problem with it is that it's tiny as all hell and there's apparentely a huge bar right in the middle of the dance floor. Supposedely smaller than laga if u can believe that.

Anyway I think I've seen maybe 4 or 5 Pittsburgh people on these forums total ... mebe we should ask swamper for our own little local scene section hehe

Yeah last summer I think that bar was called "Studio 2000" I heard several things about it, none of them pleasant.

As for rumors about big names coming to pittsburgh, I think it's my friends at The X messing with my head. I'll just say the rumor involved a certain DJ named digweed. As awesome as that would be I don't see him coming to Pittsburgh to spin anytime soon.

Pittsburgh is too big on dnb and jungle - atleast it seems. I used to be on the hyperreal list - that's all they talked about so I unsubbed. I've heard decent music come out of the behive on wednesdays.. but that was three or four months ago. I just got back to the burgh last week.

Have either of ya'll been to metropol since it was redesigned? I've never been there before but i hear it can get good sometimes.

If there isn't a trance logo already, why wouldn't we just create one? Who knows... it might become a standard in a couple of years. After all, we are a large part of the (most serious) audiance...

Nope never been for a while just cuz there haven't been any good dj's spinning there. Pretty much the only venues where decent dj's spin at now are Laga and Nebille ice arena. Haven't heard of any other places for a while.
