Bleep Radio Episode 16
Guest Mix From Stype
Bio:
born 1979 in berlin, techno-music didn't really interest me until 1994, because
i associated it with the so called "eurodance"-tracks, which were quite popular
at this time - so in my opinion it was some stupid senseless machine music.
this changed in 1994, when a friend of mine brought me a thunderdome-compilation
and i watched some mayday-footage on viva-tv (german music television) and saw
the people going mad on hardcore- and rave-music. in the next two years, i
learned more about techno and its various styles, but after visiting the clubs
of berlin (such as tresor and e-werk) in 1997, i realized, that there is a
whole lot more to discover.
so i decided to buy my first records in 1998, not with the intention to be a dj,
but to possess the tracks played in the club on vinyl, because they weren't
available on cd - the idea of mixing records came soon enough in 1999. but it
was 2001, until i had a "real" dj-setup with 2 technics mk2's and a
numark-mixer with which i began to practice beatmatching. in the end of that
year, a friend of mine and me began to stream our live-mixes on the internet
and this revealed, that i had to improve my rudimentary skills. we continued
with these sessions - and still do occasionally under www.klangterroristen.de -
and got our first (paid!) gig outside of berlin in early 2003.
my nomination for the tresor-award in 2004 surely was a big challenge for me,
and although i only played in the preliminary round, it was a big pleasure to
play in the club, which influenced a lot of people, including me.

Bleep Radio Show # 19 Info and Archive
Bleep 19 was a guest mix, mixed and recorded by Philip Ryan of Dublin.
Philip Ryan:
"Philip is from Dublin and has been DJing since 1996. He's mostly into Detroit style techno... Jeff Mills, Rob Hood and UR are amongst his favorite producers but he is also into artists like Luke Slater, Basic Channel, The Advent, Decal, Mark Broom, Surgeon etc. "When I play, I like to mix styles as much as possible - I play dubby stuff, electro and plenty of deep/minimal techno as well as harder edged material."
Over the years Philip played in clubs and events such as D1, Electric City, D Fuse, Genius, Eyecue, Trinity Ball, Let Loose, DEAF, Electrotoxic, Creation parties, Bleep, etc.
He maintains cypher-music.net, a Web site for electronica, electro, techno and house music. The majority of content is made up od DJ mixes, but there are also tracks, interviews, charts and more."

This week's guest: Syntax Error (extended bleep radio)

"Syntax error started DJing in 1998 with Drum n Bass and Psychedelic Trance in several underground clubs. His musicstyle changed to the "4x4 movers" and was fixed after he visited the Tresor Club in Berlin for the first time in end of 1998. Until now he played in several stations for example the Fusion-Club in Mnster or Tresor- Berlin. His style is a kind of abstract electronic shit and groovy experimental stupid rubbish. He has big preferences for hard bumping groovy beats, strange noizy synths and deep distored organ-basses. Check out his "some fucking rubbish" live PA, which is now available to be played in those dark dingy dungeons. He is also known as the mechanoid disruptor...Syntax beam me error!!!"
Syntax Error is one of the men behind the label Feinwerk based in Germany. He has recently put out several EPs on his own label, with a few compilation appearances under his belt as well.
Syntax Error "Put On Your Dancefloor Shoes" Faites Pas Les Malins
Syntax Error "Sequence Rape" Dance International Records
Syntax Error "Sometimes It's Only Rubbish EP" Feinwerk
Syntax Error "Cowboy's World Of Bubbles EP" Feinwerk
Syntax Error "Shoecide EP" Feinwerk
with appearances on Bombtap and Scatty-brainz as well.

The last bit in Italic was cut off of the mix due to it being too long. I included that part here in the tracklist to give you an idea of how much this guy has released. The full tracklist equates to 1 track off of each of his records (except for 2). Quite the healthy discography!

I've had zero time the last week to record a new show, so this one was something I pulled out of a folder that was tucked away. I think it's three weeks old or so...?? I can't remember.

For the next couple archives I think I'll be digging through the electro shelves. I don't really touch it too often. Well I do, but not whole sets of it. Hence the reason the next few will be electro.
note: this set contains none of that crappy electro-house stuff

Bleep 57: tafkatafta
Another Bleep, another guest!
I asked tafkatafta if he'd like to put together a show for Bleep. I didn't really know what to expect, but I knew it'd be good. As far as I'm concerned Alex can do no wrong.
The show he gave me is not mixed. Alex doesn't DJ. It's also not a Live-set, but it is a smattering of released and un-released tracks of his some played out and some just faded into the next. He also 'interviewed' Bill Youngman in a Berlin park for the show (very serious topics!) and played an older track of Bill's that has never been released.
I personally feel this is one of the best Bleep's to date. Maybe I have more of an emotional attachment than any of you would have, regardless the effort Alex put into this is appreciated to the utmost and I hope someone hears his stuff who ordinarily wouldn't have.

Bleep 58: Vadz
Bleep #58
Aired: May 10th, 2007
Mixed By: Vadz / Discogs, Phubriq
For this Bleep I had an acquaintance from Russia supply the mix. Vadim Savchenko AKA "Vadz" used material he either wrote himself or remixed and it fully delivers the goods. Electro, Techno and Acid done incredibly well. Enjoy the Bleep.
"Once upon a time robot woke up and felt himself a bit different. From the first glance, everything was the same, but each of his devices felt like something has totally changed. Inner tension in different circuits of his neuro-consciousness started causing fuzzy logic perception processes. So the whole world painted into vividly affected colors. Constant converting of his thoughts into new unknown feelings and total inconstancy of emotional experience All this led to the distorted reality, sometimes causing full consciousness collapse.
This condition not even frightened him, he was just thrown into inevitable mechanical chaos. Strong taste of metal in the mouth - thats how his receptors reacted to the impulse. But the most horrific thing was the Inner Press - squeezing the CPU with huge pistons with vast pressure. Emergency charge flashed his mind from time to time trying to prevent global system crash, and sometimes he felt like loosing his mind.
Irradiation strike suddenly lightened his mental plane - he saw the moment of his invention and felt the Creator presence. New time has come, he has to upgrade his semantic centers now! But time, like sand, rapidly flowed away and all he could see was emptiness."

Bleep 59: Disko 3000 & Tobias Schmidt
Bleep #59
Aired: May 17th, 2007
Performed by: Disko 3000 (Jean-Louis Huhta) & Tobias Schmidt
Bleep 59 is a "re-live". Cynthia Stern of Input-Output Inc. hosted a party in Sweden not long ago entitled "Mockba". The audio from Mockba was all recorded and Cynthia passed it to me for use as a Bleep. There were a total of 5 sets in all: Cynthia Stern, Towlie, Disko 3000, Tobias Schmidt and a final closing tag-team set by Cynthia Stern and Towlie. Only the live-sets performed by Disko 3000 and Tobias Schmidt were used for the aired version of Bleep 59. However, all of the audio from Mockba is being made available with the archives.

Bleep Radio 60: Trevor Wilkes
Bleep #60
Aired: May 24th, 2007
Mixed by: Trevor Wilkes
I've been on a bit of a guest mix kick lately, but I finally ran out. There are a couple more coming, but they aren't in yet!
Bleep #60 Track-list:
01 - Kid Acid "It's 2005 jack did u notice?" Kid Acid 01 [Acid Kid EP 2005]
This is one of the best acid house records to come out since the summer of love. I would have completely missed this Eric Van Den Broek production if it weren't for the fine folk at Trackheadz in the UK. If only Eric put stuff out more often, the world would be a better place. His other recent Electro EP %28Dr. Break 01%29 was also of such a high caliber I bought 2 copies just so I'd never wear through it.
Discog's link w/ more information
02 - Has Been "Jackin' All Trades" Has-Been 01 [Untitled Ep 2006]
I don't really have any clue as to what the hell this is or who did it. There are track name and a label name on the record and that's it. Kinda ran across it while shopping on Deejay.de and now I'm having difficulty not playing where ever I am. Fantastic record.
Discog's link w/ more information
03 - Sanitago & Bushido "Memory Dub" Robsoul Recordings 49 [What's Your Name EP 2006]
I bought this Robsoul for a track on the other side. It's a straight up bleepy, tracky cruncher. However I find myself playing this track a fair bit as well. it comes off to me as something that's a little more club housey than my tastes usually jive with, but hey - whatever floats my boat. I obviously like the tune.
Discog's link w/ more information
04 - Luke's Anger "Strangle Hold" Don't Recordings 10 [Fistful Of Donkeys EP 2006]
Luke's newest EP on Kid 606's Tiger bass label. Luke JUST finished playing his first North America gig a short while ago. I'm very glad to see some of these oddball nerdlingers being brought over from the UK finally. %28pst : 3d!t in ohio in june!%29
Discog's link w/ more information
05 - Unknown "Unknown" Klangnet B [Klangnet B EP]
Since this is a white labeled record with nothing, but some magic marker on it...I'm not quite sure what the track name is or who did it. Doesn't matter. All you nee to know is the whole Klangnet series %28A..D%29 rocks. MasCon and Dibu-Z created something very memorable. At least 2 of the four records in the Klangnet series will be sought after for years down the road. At only a couple hundred copies of each...good luck.
Discog's link w/ more information
06 - Aeox "Penicillin" Neue Heimat 32 [Easy jetset EP 2007]
The newest Aeox record! Not as full of reckless abandon as some of their previous outings. I'm guessing these were some left over tracks that got put to wax%28???%29. Still it's a good record. Has their trademark sound - which is to say it's not predictable like a lot of artists are. Techno you an play in a club or listen to at home.
Discog's link w/ more information
07 - Hac[k] The Tab "I Am Not Machine" [K]rack-troni[k] 07 [I Am Not Machine EP 2005]
Kracktronik is one of my favorite Electro labels. Releases like this one definitely back me up. A huge mash up of Breaks and Acid that grabs the back of your underwear and gives a yank, splitting them there cheeks wide. And by that I mean it's a good EP, if it wasn't obvious.
Discog's link w/ more information
08 - The Flying Lurinkys "Don't Get Evolved" Chan 'n' Mikes 12 [Unleash Electric Death EP 2007]
This EP is a follow-up to their tracks that were released on Miditonal. The Flying Lurinskys seem to work very well together. Michael Forshaw on his own is a love him or hate him sort of fellow, Dan Monox seems to add enough of the love him vibe to the mix to make some really good Techno with an 80's/Punk aesthetic.
Discog's link w/ more information
09 - Neil Landstrumm "Leaving Edinburgh Humour" Tresor 77 [Bedrooms And Cities LP 1997]
I play this LP a lot. Although it always seem to be the Monaco Grand Prix track, with possibly the biggest bassline anyone will ever create in it. I quite often forget just how good this LP is if you stop ignoring the rest of the tracks. Bedrooms and Cities is my 2nd favorite Landstrumm LP, with Pro Audio being my favorite. I can't wait for his newest LP to arrive so I can give some full listens and plays to it. A decision needs to be made!
Discog's link w/ more information
10 - Mark Hawkins "Frequency Response" Input-Output 15 [13 Years of Raving EP 2007]
I know of a few people that aren't enamored with Mark's stuff. I personally think he's done nothing, but improve with almost every release. He's moved away from the distorted 909 jack tracks and into a more broad Techno style. It's a bit Detroit, a bit Chicago and a lot of tweak. A few of my current favorites are Mark's latest records.
Discog's link w/ more information
11 - Cari Lekebusch "Skarume Max Peezay" Kaun Trax 05 [Understanding Of Nothing EP 2006]
As you may have guessed from the Lekebusch tribute Bleep a while back I'm a fairly big fan of his stuff. Sure he has dry spells, but anyone with the amount of stuff he's put out is sure to at times. It's been a few months now since I heard of anything new from him, so maybe it's time to dig a bit and see what's up....Anyway, this is a typcial Cari record...excellent production with a Detroit feel to it. Detroit with balls I'd like to call it. or Good %28mid 90's%29 Swedish Techno maybe.
Discog's link w/ more information
12 - Norman "Unknown" Feinwerk 08 [Yellow Dummyprotector EP 2006]
This Ep was when I was first introduced to Norman. Now I want more. It's distinct. it's great. it's fun. It's busy yet not. It's not too often you come across something like nothing you've quite heard before. This EP was that.
Discog's link w/ more information
13 - Queaver & Versis "I Hate To Cook" Kugelbox 05 [Crash Course Part 4 EP 2007]
I didn't give this track the listen I now know it deserves when I first got the record. I'm glad there was another track on the record that prompted me to buy or I might have missed this one. It makes me chair dance at home. I'd probably throw out my back if I heard it out.
Discog's link w/ more information
14 - Natural Rhythm "Mumble Mouth" .dotbleep 16 [Mumble Mouth EP 2007]
I'm a recent discoverer of Natural Rhythm, I went back and listened to some older stuff of theirs, but it's only the newish records I dig. I guess their sound and my tastes have just converged. I'm glad I found them though, their Chicago Tower Ep will not leave my bag for quite some time and this one is getting it's time out as well. Both those Eps just happen to be on .dotbleep. Have I mentioned how much I've been enjoying .dotbleep lately?
Discog's link w/ more information
15 - Jerome Hill "Shticklebrix" Kugelbox 05 [Crash Course Part 4 EP 2007]
This is the track I bought the record for %28only to discover the queaver & versis track later%29. Jerome captures some of Paul Johnson's jerkin and jackin rhythms with an updated bassline and bloop. If Chicago still dealt in the jack the way it used to, it'd sound like this.
Discog's link w/ more information
16 - TSR "Destroying The Game" Antikonsum 01 [Untitled EP 2005]
The first release on MasCon's Antikonsum label, a label that's now at it's 4th release. I seem to recall this TSR track was one of their older ones from the mp3.com days. It's been a solid 2+ years since I thought about it though so I could very well be wrong.
Discog's link w/ more information
17 - Non Stop Dj's "What I Like" Non Stop Productions 03 [Retarded EP 2006]
Passed to me by Brian Gillespie the last time I was down in Detroit, I didn't think it was going to be my sort of thing, but it does have a couple bits on it I enjoyed. Although for the record, I still don't approve of the direction Detroit has gone muscially. Damn city.
