Exclamation Check this !! RELOOP 5000 M3D

Hello guys,

It is very hard to choose a good turntable these days , ofcourse if it's not a Technics. I've heared that Reloop RP-6000 MK5 it is a very good piece of equipment, but what about the cheaper "brother" Reloop 5000 M3D???
I want to buy a good turntable but I must exclude the Technics because in my town you can find them at around 850 Euro a piece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I must exclude the Numark's which I heard they're CRAP.

The reloop 5000 m3d seems Ok but anybody tryied it for real?? It has a quartz controlled direct drive and stuff and it's heavy : 10 kg - so it looks OK.

S/N Ratio: more as 50 dB (DIN - B) >What is the meening of that??

If I'm wrong let me know !! Don't let me waste my money!!

never heard of them, sorry. looks like another 1200 knock off to me.

Posted by DannyO on Aug-15-2005 02:21:

I'm not sure but I think those carry the same motor as the Stanton ST-150, its a OEM motor found in many decks, and I know Reloop use it in some of there decks, dunno about this one, but if it does, its becoming a prooven moter and you should be fine with it.

I recommend you to check ebay for a pair of technics : here

You have written of the numark cose uve HEARD that its crap?
Dont u have a mind of ur own? people have different tastes u should try all this stuff out for yourself before making a decision u might actually discover that u like the numark or find out that theres another deck out there u prefer to the technics you need to explore abit and dont just get the technics cose everyone else has them.

Posted by _-MIl0 on Aug-15-2005 18:00:

i have a ttx and i have used techs in clubs and i find that the ttx is better in most area's. The only reason why techs are considered to be better is becouse they have been around longer and have a better record of use and not breaking down. But if you think about it anything will break down over time and in most cases it is easy enough to get the ttx fixed. Exspecially if it is still under warinty. Allot of people that bash techs have never used them in their lives and are trying to justify buying their techs. Im not saying that techs are bad, personaly i think they are great, better then most turntabels out their. But dont necessarly put out the numarks ttx just becouse of what you have heard.

Maybe you're right. I never touched a Numark before , but just browsing this forum I get the [wrong] idea that they are not so good.

Posted by sleepydragon on Aug-15-2005 19:06:

i think that theres to many technics lovers on this board that r to quick to right other decks off and alot of them have probably never even touched some of these decks just like u. Technics r way over priced for what u get in my opinion

So let's go back to the business. These reloop are they any good ?? Do you know somebody who tryied them??

Posted by spdandpwr on Aug-16-2005 16:22:

Why don't you get the stantons (150's) they are solid tables and you know that are the next best thing after those over priced techs. I have not heard of reloop to be honest but i would deff. recommend going to a store and trying this stuff out. Or going asking your friends if you can use their stuff.

Posted by DJ Nickazz on Aug-16-2005 18:04:

I've heard here in holland that the reloop is a good TT for it's price. It isn't a tech but it really is alright

Posted by almar on Aug-17-2005 21:48:

there are many reviews of this TT on the net but all, absolutely ALL are dutch sites and I can't understand a word. Damn.
If someone is dutch around here, I need some help. Just give a google serch like this : "Reloop 5000 m3d review" and you will find some dutch sites and maybe you'll understand something.Check the forums too, please!!

Reloop has got pretty strong motor in their TTs. I have one RP-4000 MK 2 and it has worked fine for almost a year now. It's pretty much like a cheap version of technics but it's steady and the pitch doesen't jump around. And it has got more special things than the basic 1200 (three speeds, reverse button...).

Reloop TTs are good for starters but don't buy their mixers. You also get a free t-shirt and an ortofon cartridge.

Yeah that's what I want to know , about the pitch problem!! So you say it's okay with the pitch!!!

Posted by Acidy on Aug-19-2005 14:59:

Well I don't know how the pitch works in other "cheap" TTs but I'm quite sure that reloop has got the best pitch that you can get on that price. So you don't have to worry about that thing. And some people have said that the motor in it is almost as good as 1200s motor witch is pretty surprising.

Tech 1200 MK2

Torque (1.5Kg/cm)
Pitch range +/- 8% (.1% incrediments?)
Start speed 0.7sec from standstill to 33 1/3rpm
Wow and flutter 0,01% WRNMS

Reloop 5000 m3d

Starting torque > 2200 g/cm (note at startup)
Pitch range +/- 10/20% (any more info on this pitch controller?)
Start/Stop times < 1 sec.
Wow & Flutter < 0,15% WRMS at 33 1/3 RPM (only at 33rpm?)

Someone show me a turntable with a wow and flutter of 0.1% other than a tech

I just bought a pair of techs secondhand for 420. A pair in the UK is about 650-700! Whats your absolute maximum budget? Sometimes saving an extra few hundred pays off since you'll get better turntables secondhand for a little bit more than what you'd pay out for brand new but midrange turntables. Just look for a pair of reasonably well looked after techs and chances are they will be mechanically sound. remember these things are like sherman tanks!

Also whenever you come to sell your turntables (if bought new) you will lose a fair bit of money. If you were to sell secondhand techs you shouldnt lose much money if any at all.

Also I gotta say this but the reloop looks like a blatant 1210 ripoff. Even naming it a 5000 M3D after the technics version! Im surprised there hasnt been a lawsuit!

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-19-2005 17:27:

I agree with trancecadet. Save up and wait.

That's what I did. I was first looking at some shitty numarks for like 150$US a piece or something. Just be patient.

All the gear I have came with patience and saving. It sucks I know. But a quality set up is worth

/me pets his Alesis M1MK2s and Technic 1200M3Ds

AND OH YEA.

DON'T GO CHEAP ON A MIXER
Berinsuck DJX700

Posted by almar on Aug-19-2005 18:55:

The Techs are just so rare around here where I live. The only second-hand pair of 1200's that i've found IN THE HOLE COUNTRY is around 750 pounds (around 1000 euro) so I think I must import them from a country like Germany or UK. Do you know some good stores (online) for second-hand DJ-Gear that I can trust ??? because I'm not so sure about these Ebay offers!!

Posted by spdandpwr on Aug-19-2005 22:21:

obviously you are paying way too much for these turntables (roughly two times the cost of buying them in the states) you probably save money just buying them from an online store in the states and shipping them over. 2000 euro for two used tables is stupid especially since euro is worth more than the dollar.

Actually itll probably be cheaper to fly to the states and buy the tables and then fly back home with them.

Not that much. I said that I found at 1000 euro [around 1300 dollars]a second hand PAIR , but it is still to much. Probably you're right - maybe it's cheaper to fly in USA or Europe and get some TT's.

Posted by spdandpwr on Aug-19-2005 22:56:

oops i thought you meant each individual table. btw and mk2 costs 399 us dollars which totals to 800 bucks and a plan ticket round trip will most likely be another 500 to europe. You pay same amount of money and you get new tables plus a vacation.
