yea man, there'd be absolutely no point in this mixer even existing if there's no pitch control. wonder where the hell it is on this thingamajig...

It's a bit old (news wise).

It was primarily designed for battles. Hmm!

OMG!!11!1!one!!1

Yes another great invention but what happens when you are quarter way into the mix and YOUR BATTERY DIES! ROFLMAO sorry im t3h ipod hateR

Posted by lasix on Aug-15-2005 23:03:

there is no pitch control on this unit (but it is in development.. no word on a release date though). the target audience is not dance music dj's - its aimed at amatuers, bar owners, and mobile dj's who do not need to mix their music at the same tempo (this is the majority of the market!)

your battery will not die because the docks for both ipods have built-in chargers.

For $249, there are now going to be even more wanna-be-dj's.

You can use it just like a regular mixer for your TT's or CDJ's as well.

Posted by lasix on Aug-15-2005 23:32:

Yes. but clearly the main features are for the ipod users.

you could just as easily plug your ipod into a line out of a regular mixer, but this unit makes use of the ipod much more convenient.

Hmmm "The Pitch" is always the feature of the player and never the mixer. So, i doubt if a pitch control actually exists in this piece of crap....unless, off course if they have integrated a DSP and shit loads of memory on the mixer, which, I doubt looking at the price.

Dont Bother. Its for 12yr olds.

Yea, it sucks. My Technics are fine as is

maybe you didn't quite understand what I wrote.. Numark (and other independent manufacturers) are working on a unit that will have pitch control integrated .. THAT has no release date as of yet.

Lets leave the whole "n000b" business behind..aiight...

Now having a pitch control in this thing still doesnt make it worth it...does it??!!!

Just the fact that you said that makes you a newb.

And that mixer will probably cost over $1000, because in order to do that the mixer needs a hard drive, a written program, a bpm display, and more buttons.

Well NOT really a Hard Drive, but yeah lots of memory to first "download" the track from iPod and the use its own DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to manipulate the pitch...which will make it, yes, Fuckin expensive gift for a 12 YEAR OLD!

does it look like I care that you think I'm a noob? Maybe on this board I'm new to you since I have like 12 posts in 3 years or some shit.

You are right, it would cost at least that much. Numark is releasing this product to bank on those that don't really care about matching beats.

Those who dont care for matching beats??!! hhmmm.....how else do you mix then?? I mean i am not talking of drum beats here...but the unit "Beat" in music...... ahhh forget it...not worth the argument.

Its not that I think youre a newb, but youre justifying yourself by how long youve been on the boards, thats a newb thing to do. You need to understand, the word newb is thrown loosely around these forums, and usually nobody really means it unless youre spamming endlessly about DJ Sammy.

go to a rock & roll bar that has a DJ, or better yet, go to your cousin's sweet 16 party.. more than likely, there will be some lame-ass dj mixing songs together at totally different tempos calling himself a DJ
