Orana Project - The Story Of

New collab complete from Ethereal and I. For those who haven't heard our first one (Blue Storm), it got signed to Trance Tribe Recordings and ended up on Platipus' new compilation, "Tales Of The Unexpected".[/shameless promo]

Our new track is something fairly different for both of us. It's nowhere near the typical intro-breakdown-build-climax-outro formula. I don't want to say too much about it, so just check it out.

this is AMAZING. i love it when the fucked up percussion comes in at 1min 09ish i've being trying to nail that kinda sound for a while but cant do it. well into this kinda stuff. AMAZING WORK

Thumbs up

great track. i love the breaks you guys threw out, it's very reminiscent of BT. i just recently bought a remix of "silver sun" btw.

Pretty damn impressive tune there. Top notch editing on the breaks, for sure - might be a bit hard to dance to, but I'm guessing that wasn't really the intent.

Is the track done? Any chance I could hear the whole thing?

Another nice production from you 2. Nice bassline, strings and general melodic ideas. Keep it up!!

great stuff, loving the breaks section, although it lasts pretty long..
lovely sounds and effects in general.
the kick seems to lack some low end.. nice piece overall.

many many thankgs, omega.

in general, thanks a lot for the replies so far. i'm happily surprised it's been received well. i thought many of you would complain about the length of the breakbeat section but i guess not... we had a lot of fun making those breaks.

we'll have news on this one for you soon

Love the acid line in this, them changes in the bass - well nice

Them breaks are fantastically programmed, props to the pair of you!!

Solid track, should have no problem getting this snapped up

The breaks in this this are just the bomb. I cant stop listening to it. Its not such a literal track and your not led hand by hand through it and I love this fact. You know how some tracks just hit you right in the face? Well this one just did.

Wish more stuff was getting made like this. Feels kinda oldschool in parts, but definately has a forward thinking/progressive mentality to the structure. The synth work at 2.25 reminds me of Re:Locate/Octagen style stuff. Its got balls, its got bite. The stutter edits are brilliant. This is really forward thinking stuff.

All I can say, is keep this up guys, because trance needs more productions like this. Really impressed!

I can't let him get away with all the credit.

We probably split them right about 50/50. Thanks for all the great feedback guys.

TTR has agreed to release this. I haven't heard a date yet, but I'll keep ya posted when I hear more.

Different kind of track this one I think, no real climaxes or anything, though blissful chilly melodies and atmosphere. Breaks are very nice! Though perhaps just a tad too long... Made me scroll forward just a little bit

Keep up the good work guys!

And yet another beautiful collab from yous guys.

I love the breaks section. Wonderful cutting there.

Posted by RiCo on Aug-24-2005 16:33:

I am picky as hell, so it takes a lot to impress me or get me to think about a song...but this song achieved that, hah...this is so fucken' pretty I feel like crying. It does not have any climaxes or anything...nothing massive, but the mood is gorgeous...I like it a lot. Is this released? Where can I buy it?

Posted by RiCo on Aug-26-2005 04:32:

Damn it I cannot stop listening to it. I can't wait to return back home and put this song on my Celi's stereo when chillin' with my girl one night at teh beach! I can just picture it right now...her on my hood...me kissing her neck slowly...while the break goes on and that bass hits solid on my carbon fiber Coustics...OWWWWWWWEEEEEEEE!

Posted by BshidoHEAT on Aug-26-2005 04:52:

Beautiful! Love your work guys!

Posted by tylerc on Aug-27-2005 23:36:

Thanks for the kind words guys!

RiCo - I hope you still have that girl up on your hood

didnt like this sorry. thought the breaks section was too overly complex for the style of track it is, and the main body of the track didnt seem to go anywhere imo. maybe i'd have to hear a full edit.

technically very good thou

Posted by Redstar on Aug-30-2005 02:00:

lovely lil track you got here. melodies and synths sound good. imo the breakz fit in just fine. great work!

Posted by EliPsE on Aug-30-2005 07:13:

Nice song but I think the 2nd breaks part is too much@ 2:20min. and the transition after the breaks back in doesn't suit weill idk. just doesn't feel right after hearing breaks for 2min.
anyway not bad
7/10
THis TTR label seems like they sign everything that gets sent to them.
No offense

I'm interested as to where you came up with that load of crap....

Do you have any idea how many tracks they get sent? I'm not meaning to imply it's some astronomical number, but it's a simple fact you would need to make that sort of straight-from-the-ass comment. Maybe it's because there are several TA members who have worked with them before...Johnson & Corbett, Alan M, Icone, Nick Thompson, Dave Begic, etc. but a label with songs by Alphazone, Icone, Alucard, Nick Thompson, etc can't be THAT desperate for tunes.

I only point this out because "THis TTR label seems like they sign everything that gets sent to them." isn't followed up very well by "no offense."

No offense.
