+1

I kinda figured a response from TA, maybe it's just a city thing, i mean its like people who collect watches or baseball cards or photographers with multiple canon digital rebels? but for me it's sneakers and watches. My watch collection is 8 watches and growing I have a case for them just like i have a rack for my sneakers. Just like YOU HAVE A RACK FOR YOUR VINYLS. I've also been into canvas belts to match my clothes. Maybe it's just a dressing up thing, maybe I just like to match I don't know what it is, I just like my sneakers and I'm sure there are others out there. Just thought there would be someone on these boards who would be into the same things outside of "trance omgwtfbbq" or you corewhores. I know there's someone out there...if not then I guess I got issues.

my mate from Rome won some oldschool Jordans on ebay recently for like a buck thirty.

I saw the movie "Sneakers" with Robert Redford and Dan Aykroyd earlier in the day. Capital flick!

$1900 dollars? are you fuckin kidding me?

I like having nice shoes too but fuck this shit is more expensive than getting shoes by Prada, Costume National, Gucci.

I'm not a big shoe person. I have the following:

3 year old and still goin strong Adidas Sambas.
Some Puma mesh running shoes.
Blue Puma Romas
Black Doc Martens (Steve Madden-ish looking)
Brown Doc Marten shoes.

That's about it. I'd like to get a new pair soon.. just never can really find ones that appeal heavily to me.

its not realistic for a person to drop that much money on sneakers, it's true there is a limit. but some people treat this hobby as a lifestyle. dj's spending (how much) on electronic equipment, car enthusiast dropping (how much) on an engine swap? I guess if you look at it from a hobbyist point of view, you can justify price with quality/rarity. for example, a nissan skyline RHD in the states = the cost to import one because A)it's rare B)it's dope! Now again apply that to sneakers A)it's rare B)it's dope and of course C)they just fucking sneakers but that's reality kicking in.

Next is that limited edition sneakers are like rookie baseball cards. they'll make xxx pairs of these sneakers by name brands ie: Stussy, Kaws (graff artist and BAPE designer), Tiffany, etc.

and to the comment about me having a comment about everything? sorry i like to keep up with my thread instead of making it and then abandoning it.
