1/2 price monday

its Monday and they have half price sushi at ichiban. I'm gonna be craving it all day till i have sum. My fave is the fatty tuna - and i like the california rolls too!

Sushi is quite good. I've only started trying it in the past year or so and haven't frequented too many spots. That's something I'll change. I like the california rolls too, and there is one fish I that's my fave, but I can't remember what it's called (I see it in the picture...hehe)

Its not the most exciting sushi, but i love calif rolls too! some smoked salmon always tastes great!!! mmmmm fishheads fishheads.... rolly polly fishheads....

I'm a big fan of sushi ... but I usually stick to the basic California rolls. The one time I tried a sushi platter, I had a cold and couldn't taste a thing (sushi is subtle).

Posted by apri_peel on Aug-23-2005 01:22:

oh fck yeah!
bring on the rolls! ive recently developed a taste for salmon sashimi
jap restaurants are not about sushi tho, so much more great food, teriyaki chicken, all the seafood, noodles, them thick noodles in a soup, forgot what they're called

im sorry, but i think we're even more fortunate on the west coast here, amazing culinary diversity

Hmmm Japanese food Gotta love it!!

I'm all about the Ebi sunomono, salmon sashimi, spicey tuna sashimi, chicken karage, chiken teri don, miso soup and more!!

abaname is some good stuff too

PS: i'm with apri-peel on this one, we probably have the best sushi here on the west coast because we're right next to the ocean..

Posted by apri_peel on Aug-23-2005 01:36:

oooooooh ebi sunomono is the shit!
good call there

Special house rolls are where its at, that and dyanamite rolls.
I'm an equal oppurtunity kinda guy though when it comes to sushi.
Best is when the rice is warm and the fish is cold.. hmm so good.
This summer, I have it on average twice a week

just had some today at sushi train. i ordered the bakudan, california , dynamite, chic teriyaki. Good stuff except of chic teriyaki. i had the fresh eel once, very juicy.

Am I the only person in the world that doesn't like sushi?!?!?!?
I dunno, I hate the taste of fish in general, and even the rolls with no fish still taste like fish because of the seaweed!
I used to date a guy whose brother owned Wasabi on Osborne ans he would always bring me free sushi, but I always gave it away to my friends....
Maybe it's an aquired taste....?

i just had sushi last night. chopped scallop cones and soft shell crab rolls are where its at.

still reminiscing the times when i used to work as a sushi chef and roll anything i want when i need a snack.

sushi hater..lol..JK...ur right..it is an aquired taste..i didn't like sushi before..i was starvin one time and that was the only thing to munch on..after that i loved it..thats trippy..i know the owners of wasabi. i belive there are 3 now...i remember wen i delivered for wasabi..sushi everyday..all freeee...mmmm...imagine...i work 7-12...me and my buddy would constantly baked it right from the morn..after my last delivery we would go chill in the fridge in the back of the van and cool off from the plus 30 weather and just munch out on sushi..it was great..got sick of cali rolls for a while though..
