-- do you like it deep????
do you like it deep????
well, this is my first new mix in quite some time. i am really proud of this piece: the mixing, the tracks, the feeling... the journey.
i decided to get back to my roots. deep, hypnotic roots.
it is a journey deep inside featuring a whole spectrum of styles and sounds. from deep blippy tech-house to electro breaks to pure, adulterous tribal prog, straight prog to amorphous rock n roll electro.
if getting lost is your thing, give -adentro- a spin and disappear for a while.
as always i welcome comments, feedback, etc.

Slammin mix D, well done. ![]()
I'm suprised no one else has commented, I KNOW there is an audience for this kind of mix on TA.
You definately have to be in the right kinda mood for this, but if you are it is class all the way. Mixing is tight, levels are good and tunes are great; while being a bit diverse in genre, they blend very well. The only critism I have is for the begining. It seems like the same bassline/melody from Avus - Real lasts about 9 mins. It builds nicely but to me it seems a bit over-extended and causes the mix to have a slow start. Although I would like to know what's going on there. Did you loop Real at all? And how long can you hear that mix of Coheed before it's faded out? It's really hard to tell for me what's going on, which is quite a feat in itself, lol.
Anyway fuggin superb mix, I do love your more uplifting house style the most, but this is definately a keeper for the nights I just feel like getting lost.
btw I listened to your trance mix, incalesco, and I didn't take to it too well. I think your suited for the more subtle genres. Just my opinion s'all.
anyway keep up the awesome work. will definately keep a look out for your next. cheers.
about time GD it!!! haha. loved you last mix, can't wait to rock dis
well, to answer questions...
there was no looping, no fx, just 2 trntables and a base mixer. i find that ppl rely too much on all the extra toys and the art of real time rmxing with just your records is being lost. now i dont condemn those who use the toys well... but as miyagi said, 'first learn stand, then learn bow.'
i appreciate all of your comments... and metatron, yeah i am much moe comfortable in the deeper, funkier, trippier, sexier realm. always have been. and coheed goes on until the first dropout of avus - real.
and incalesco was made 2 years ago, just a novice learning to put things together.
thanks for listening
daniel
Giving this a listen today. Only recognize a couple of tracks in this set so should be a nice surprise. Will post some feedback as soon as I'm done listening
Thanks!
Ciao
Overall, a solid mix. Your mixing and technique as a whole was XLNT with only a few minor criticisms. There were a couple of transitions that didn't tickle my fancy. One of them sounded very staticy like white snow on a television, think this was around the 65min mark. However, this set definately would not get my blood pumpin in a club simply because its too chilled and laid back. A great opener for a club night though, just not for the climax of the night. One more thing, the starting and parts throughout your mix sounded like really bad clipping was going on.. I couldn't figure out if it was an effect, the song, or if it indeed was clipping.
Conclusion: definately worth a listen if your in a chillout mood. This is far from ambient, but gives me the same type of feel when I listen to ambient music. Will keep this one on my PC and give it a thorough listen and write more detailed comments.
Cheers!
im so happy you took the time to comment. i was beginning to think this mix was going to slip into oblivion with no one taking notice. i mean it was a 'one take' mix, but it really seemed it needed to be made
glad you enjoyed the listen... the static was the end of 'come to me' and that is how it sounds... weird i know, but thats why i liked it. and the clipping, i am shocked, i dont hear anything like that. i purposely recorded it at a low volume because of the intense basslines, and clicky, bleepy, staticy noises.
