Latin America: Trance/house/techno scene?
How is the scen over there?
I went to a rave 2 years ago in Cordoba, Argentina ...it was OK not the best I've done but I really enjoyed it.
I know that in Buenos Aires they have good parties, often with big djs. I really want to know more!
What about the rest of Latin America? Any known trance djs?
Here in Colombia the scene is just starting, everyone calls "techno" every kind of electronic music; dance, techno, trance, house, all is "techno".
Famous DJs? Well Mauro Picotto, Mario Piu, and 3 weeks ago Paul Oakenfold came to the capital. The media was amazed, everyone was saying the best DJ in the world came to our country. Oakenfold set was great and in fact it was the best party ever done in town. However I hope to see someday Tiesto or Paul van Dyk spinning here.
ok then...
But do you have any trance clubs?
Well not trance but "Techno". There is only one dedicated specially to raves around here, it is called The Castle and is a big castle located about 5 miles from Bogota where each week there is nothing but a bunch of local DJs spinning cheese and more cheese.
Oh shit, Tiesto please come here!!!!!!!!!!
One club comes to mind!!!!11
LA BOOM!!! in Cancun, Mexico.... that club is the shizznit!!! WOW>.....it was definitely sweet.
Mexico Scene
Well......I guess I am tho one to say that the best Latin America's trance scene is in Mexico....
Here is the list (all I can remember right now):
Oakenfold, van Dyk, Tenaglia, Sasha, Fontaine, Graham, Ralph, Digweed, Seaman, Emerson, Lawrence, Green Velvet, Deep Dish, Kleinenberg, Daniels, Pappa, Cass, Morales, Infected Mushroom, Kox Box, Cosmosis, van Helden, 'Choo Choo' Romero, Piu, Tall Paul, Jules, Keoki, Warren, Maas, Fatboy, Groove Armada, Dan, Hawtin, Goldie, Wink, Art Of Trance, & I can't remember more (surely there are a lots more!!!).
Talkin' about clubs u can come to Acapulco's Paladium, Cancun's La Boom, Mexico City Danzoo, La Boom,....
....But I'm beggin' for Ferry, Armin & Gielen......(damn shit!!!!!)
...also for Piccotto, Marco V & Tisto........

Besides here in Mexico the scene is strong with national dj's like Klang & Martin Parra (both of them have played at the Love Parade), Irwin Purple, Ramiro Puente, and of course, Bostich & Fussible with the world famous sound: Nortec. Chek it out!!!

Mexico has better trance/house scene than we have in Sweden!
Argentina:
I'm not a good "user" of the Argentinian Trance Scene (i live in Chubut, far away from Buenos Aires), but i can tell there is a lot of people who like techno, trance, house, etc.
Maybe is the 3rd force of music in the country, after rock and latin music.
The scene is really really good. The "star Djs" come to Argentina continuously, theres a lot of radio station, clubs and magazines dance-dedicated.
The national djs Dj Dero and Hernan Cattaneo maybe are the Argentina international reference, they spin in the Loveparade and all around the world.

Puerto Rico ain't exactly paradise for trance. People usually prefer DnB to anything in a party
I still have faith someday they'll grow out of it
Till then, I'll just have to go to Miami so hear some good music(thank god for audiogalaxy and TA!!)
Latin people :
Please go to the "Site suggestions" Forum and vote for the creation of a "Latin forum" We need all the latin tranceaddicts as possible.

Re: Latin America: Trance/house/techno scene?
Well I forgot to say that our public is very well informed and don't accept any kind of DJ playing here.
The DB scene has DJ Marky, considered the best international DJ by Knowledge Magazin who brought to Brazil names like DJ Fabio, Marcus Intalex, DJ Craze..
The techno scene, specially the hardtechno and acid techno are also very strong. Inigo Kennedy, Liberators, Geezer, DAVE The Drummer, Marco Bailey, Mr. C., Liebing, DJ Rolando (Aztec Mystic) were some of the names in SP last year and we're waiting for the next week DJ Rush and DJ Hell.
We have a huge festival called Skol Beats that follows the same formula from UK Homelands with 50000 people every year.
=)
trance is more of a trend here....its getting better thou
some good djs have visited surprisngly, panama being so small but yeah we dont have techno/trance clubs..couple raves at clubs and if a big dj comes down some outdoor/beach "raves".
but you see lots of people rolling just because n being like that kid in the movie "go".
hook panama up with sum good djs

I saw many times DAVE, Geezer and once DJ Ant, Rowland The Bastard and Chris Liberator and waiting for DDR this year! :-) These guys are incredible! You have to see Mara Bruiser from 4x4 label (sub-label from Stay Up Forever)playing live. She was born in Brazil, but moved to England to learn from the Liberators their technics.. a must!
My friend!
I sure am glad to meet someone on this board who loves the same music as I do. It is great when there is someone who u can talk about your FAVORITE music to. Now, i would like to hear more about your experience in meeting those greatest producers of all times...but i'm afraid this is not an appropriate place for discussing our music because nearly 95% of all people here have no idea what acid techno really is. Therefore I suggest that u join us (unless u have done it already
) at http://disc.server.com/Indices/178395.html where we talk about our music and our Gods. I'm looking forward to see u there, m8!
Thanx for the link !! I didn't know this msg. board despite having visited AcidPhonk's site lots of times! :-) I'll be there!!
Acid, acid, acid...
Well, this is the exact problem of the board: only few people know that it exists...that's why it's not too crowdy out there right now. Kari said she and Jesse had sent letters to those who subscribed to their mailing list but since they got a new host recently, many people don't know the new URL yet... which is very disappointing
