how long does it usualy take for labels to get back to you...if they do!

sent in a few demos and I'm just wondering from experience how long it took for labels to contact you guys after you sent in your stuff.

this is of course if they like it..I know they dont contact everybody that sends in demos but I mean for teh stuff they want to sign.

My impression is that every company that mangages labels has really much to do at each time. For me it can take 2 - 5 days before I get an answer.

Can you post a little sample of the song you sent in?

Posted by Limit on Aug-23-2005 23:27:

sample here

Not a #1 smash hit but hey, I think its got the whamoo for the dancefloor.

its not the final one that I sent in...I had to make some eq changes and add some minor fixes. Its not fully mixed or mastered either. This version was just a test for soemthing.

amazing track!

Very good track.
It seems like you're at about the same production level as I am.

This track could easliy get signed, as long as it gets to the right label. It's minimalistic and a bit proggy.

I would rate it 8/10! Keep me updated on your comming tracks.

thanks,

what labels would you suggest???

Posted by Vizay on Aug-24-2005 23:12:

in my own experience it's very different depending on wich label your'e talking about.

Anjunabeats for example were really fast at answering me when I sent them my stuff (only took about 5 days)
but there's other labels that I've sent stuff to that took like almost a month to answer me back.

PS. Love the sound of your track, that's some mint work

yeah, great stuff there, if i was a label i would sign you in a flash

I dont normally chime in for peoples tracks as for the most part they sound very similar.. But this is a pretty fucking good trance track, it has a unique sound.......

Good work..

this track is ridiculous

(omfg i die)

Posted by dkode on Aug-25-2005 05:49:

this is fresh

its only a matter of time before you're signed imo.

keep up the good work

Ah good because i was about to say, there is a definite lack of bass in this version.

Dude, this track is sick...not too climaxy but the melody is my cup of tea...holy crap...this is beautiful. The melody is simple but will stick to me for days now...this is good stuff...loving the mood. You won't have a problem getting it signed.

Posted by Limit on Sep-20-2005 04:06:

sent it off to like 12 labels and nobody likes it....I think that I'm sending to the wrong labels?? Any suggestions for labels to send to? I dont know much. I just used most of the ones on the ETN page and a few others.

If my track just sucks and is not good enough then well thats fine with me cause for once I am satisfied with something I have done.

Have you tried Sending it to The "Adjusted" Label ?

Posted by mark_the_gooner on Sep-20-2005 15:46:

if no labels contact you back, try sending to DJs, if they like they will play and labels will pick up.

dont think they are gonna play it since I sent it to Armada already and they dont want it.

Will post a sample tonight when I get home.

did they write back to you and tell you they didnt want it or just never replied? Maybe you had to send more than 1 song?? not sure how labels work but dont give up.. i m sure there is a label out there that will sign it

Posted by Limit on Sep-21-2005 02:26:

Here's the sample of my track

http://s48.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1U5SLVDXJT11234O5N5NXMARBV

The only label I heard back form was Electronic Elements...Perry O'Neil sent me a mail back saying that it was not the sound they were looking for.

I just dont think its a signable track!

at least I'm happy with it...and thats a hard thing for me to do, I'm never happy with anything I do.

Edit:Just sent it to Adjusted, thanks GreenLight.

Posted by RiCo on Sep-21-2005 03:05:

Hey bro, why don't you try making a more massive, faster version of the song? I am pretty sure it would get signed if it had a faster, busier rhythm, you know. Maybe it's too mellow the way it is now. =)

Posted by chillsonic on Sep-21-2005 03:16:

i'm really digging that baseline. it's phat.
