Tiesto @ Exit Reviews...

Exit IS Dante's Enferno!!!!!

Noel Sanger spun a great opening set, got to enjoy that before it got packed.. what was up with all the CD's he was playing? hmm.. *shrug* still sounded good.

heard Tiesto spin for about an hour and a half or so and got out.. Had a really good time being with a friend.. wicked tunes, similar set to what I heard him play in Toronto a couple months ago but that place sucks goat ass! So hot, nowhere to dance, "hans" and "frans" the steroid freaks. I've never actually complained about a crowd so much...

got to meet another Tranceaddict from Texas at the front of the room as Tiesto was going on, that was cool!

ahh well... more later

OK...i just got home from Exit...we left at like 4....

Let me tell u i am a FREAK for Tiesto....i would go anywhere to see him and collect everything he has..before we went into exit i got 6 pictures with at Virgim record store and talked with him...then me and my friend went and started ripping down EVERY Tiesto billboard that had him and Judge Jules on..you know the ones they post around the factory and Exit...we got like 20 of them and almost got arrested...i LOVE Tiesto...but we HAD to GET out of that shit hole of a club....

Exit itself is a beautiful club , when all those people arent in it.....in the begining we where right at the booth front and my nose was stuck on the glass waiting for Tiesto.....then when he came on we where CRUSHED beyond beleif.....i have been to ALOT of clubs in my life and have never seen a crowd that big in such a small area...it was insane....

We couldnt even stand there anymore and had to listen to Tiesto from far away...while all the little Exit kids thought they where hot shit crowding the booth area....i literally almost got into 10 or 11 fights with those freaken juice heads....

People kept pushing and pushing...and i met up with a girl there and the guys at Exit kept hitting her and knocking her down....now i know why people say that club sucks....you had a bunch a losers walking around with their shirts off acting all tough and tons of girls who where so coked up i wanted to puke. not to mention that club seemed more like a fashion show then a good time.......

for the 1 1/2 hours i heard Tiesto spin i was aggravated and extremely pissed off...i had a terible time....isnt there a limit on how many people can be in a club...it was way past that limit...

The only thing that made me happy was that i met a really cool girl who loves Tiesto and cared more about the music then how her lipstick looked...and the fact that every time i turned around and looked for my friend he had a HUGE smile on his face...other then that it sucked the ENTIRE time...but hey i got a girls number

If Tiesto every plays there again i will NOT go....as much as i love him, i refuse to be surrounded by such an unclassy crowd that probally knows shit about Tiesto or the scene.......what a shame....like i said its not the club itself that sucked..it was the obnoxious crowd of juice heads and slutty coked up girls that ruined my night aswell as other Tiesto fans i talked to...

So many Tiesto fans i spoke to left early like we did...and to be honest i didnt even care that i was leaving and missing the rest of his set..i just wanted out of that place more then anything....

I am very upset over this....seriously i am.....i really hope that other people had a good time...cus i didnt..shit i couldnt even enjoy the music i like more then anything else in this world.....and whoever said that when he played at World it sucked...all i ahve to say is the crowd at World was soooooo much better and atleast when they knockeds you down they apologized and where there for Tiesto and to have a good time with fellow fans.....

EXIT SUCKS EXIT SUCKS EXIT SUCKS EXIT SUCKS EXIT SUCKS EXIT SUCKS

I have red lipstick smudged over my white shirt and i think i forgot my legs at Exit cause i dont feel them on me anymore.
I noticed he played..
New Order - Crystals (some fukin mix)
Iio - Crapture
Schiller - Das Glockenspiel

Ill think of some more later.
It was nice meeting all of you. You guys are great.

Does anyone know what track he played at about 5am. It was probably the HARDEST track he dropped all night. It started off real dark then it built up little by little and finally it just blew up. Literally sounded like a bomb.

Posted by nyczliquid on Dec-15-2001 12:38:

he also dropped some classic tunes!!!!
like..push...rank1 - airwave....
and some that pop in my head now..are...urbain train...hide u...flight 643....silence....ppk - resurrection...

he stopped at 6..i was surprised he spun that long!

and at the end he threw his headphones with "tiesto Loves Nyc" written on it....i dove for it..but..didnt get it =T

Posted by nyczliquid on Dec-15-2001 12:40:

tiesto14....youre not alone about bein pissed off about the atmosphere in that club...
the way things are in that club has been that way every friday for a very long time...

anyways...lets set up a track listing of the set...i loved the last hour of his set..definately floor filling tracks

Posted by otomboy on Dec-15-2001 12:50:

2-6!
my legs are melted...
my ears bleeding ...
my eyes are red...
fucking good time

exit sucks of course, but I was there for tiesto
fight broke out in front of the DJ, had to pull my friend out of the way, but tiesto just kept on, without missing a beat.

Posted by KidmoneyKrieg on Dec-15-2001 13:37:

It was amazing. Sat on the 2nd floor all night long, and walked up for the last hour by the glass.

Posted by DJ Lac on Dec-15-2001 13:54:

Smoking ..umm..something You see

What did I say... Nobody believes me for shit.. ah well wtvr.. But I told you it was gonna suck like ass.. I know the people that go there.

Posted by TempesTrip on Dec-15-2001 14:57:

It was pretty funny at the end when he threw his headphones into the crowd. the second everyone in front of hte booth saw he was going to throw them in, they literally ripped that piece of glass off covering hte tables. Oh well. Anyways from what i remember right now

I'm sure he opened with Hooligan - Hear Me Now
Possibly Grandchillas Mix i'm not 100% sure of the mix though.
To add to the list he also played
Ralphie b - massive
Silience, flight 643 (Why is he still playing these? it must be an exit thing)
He ended with
technique - the sun is shining
have no idea why but what-eva

Worse comes to worse lets get a track list going! =)

There was one awesome track that had vocals that went "lifted you up" or something to that effect. That totally got me going. Anywayz i'm out. Time to sleep and prep for tomorrow night =) Lataz Tempest

Tiesto kicks ass! I got home around 7:30 this morning... let me tell you, the best fucking time of my life! The crowds at Exit were just insane; but just totally cool and dancing to the rythms of Tiesto. Alot of pushing on the dancefloor, but ah, it was Tiesto and well worth it! Met this girl there too like Tiesto14... loved the music and got her number We constantly got pushed around out there and it was hard to keep sight of one another when we were leaving b/c of the crowd. He started the night off with awesome tracks and continued the same way for the entire night. I always thought Tiesto would be awesome, but man this was better than I anticipated. Ears are totally numb, but well worth it. For those who didn't go, you really missed out. Does anyone have any photos from last night up online? I wonder if anyone recorded him last night... my guess probably not since it wasn't broadcast, but definitely the best Tiesto set ever that I've heard!

Posted by twilochik on Dec-15-2001 17:12:

I had a great time at Tiesto! I got to see my old Twilo Crew and met some new TA's!! Rich and MIzz, great meeting you. Some other TA's that we went with were Twilogoddess, Redeye, Phazon! Good turn out for the TA peeps....oh yeah Dennis...that's my lipstick on ur shirt fool! hahahahahaha Anyway it was great seeing everyone! I had a great time dancing my arse off. I left at 4 am to spend some time with my boyfriend. Personally I thought Tiesto was much better this time the he was at World. Much harder.
Tempest...he's still dropping Silence and Flight 643...not an Exit thing...just a really played out Tiesto thing...spun both at World in Oct as well. I'm suprised he didnt drop Pulser-Couldwalking. Maybe he did after we left.

To add to the ever growing set list....he dropped his remix of "The Space Between"....didn't sound as horrible as it does on my puter! hehehe

The crowd sucked big time! But, I wasn't gonna let that get me down! I had a great time with my friends!

I couldnt agree with you guys more. I am very disappointed at the fact that they let too many damn people in that place...I dont think there was an instant where i wasnt getting pushed in one way or another..very frustrating...Temp, he did open with the grandchillas remix of hear me now....he did the same in toronto but i aint complaining hehe..I also met a few new TA's (Twilochik, Twilogoddess, Phazon) great to meet yas...I cant really say I enjoyed myself as much as when I saw him in Toronto (there was no room at all!)....2 totally different experiences...Mizz, Red always a pleasure...maybe the askin price for the table would have been worth it...oh well

Thumbs up

I personally had a ridiculously good time. I only met one kid. The kid from Texas who was by the right side of the booth the entire time. I'm not sure if he's from Trance Addict or not, but he was really cool. I had him and his girlfriend try like 3 or 4 times to get Tiesto's autograph, but it just wasnt happening. (i finally did get his auto, after keeping my hand with a subscription card on the glass for about 45 minutes.) If anyone was by the booth, i was the short white kid who was all by himself with spikey hair, glasses, and no shirt on. i kept screaming TIESTOOOOo and jumping really high and just basically going crazy. It was my first time seeing Tiesto and now next time i go to Exit, it'll be soooo bad (Draper, YAY! ) Tiesto is definitely my favorite DJ. and about the crowd, that's just how the crowd is at Exit. i mean, think about the music they play if Tiesto isnt there. if you really think about it, the crowd isn't THAT bad. i stayed by the booth and everyone around there was in really high spirits. when he played the Dave Matthews remix, that Texas kid and like three girls started going nuts. i love that shit. and twilochik, i was on the main floor by the stage before Tiesto came on and there was a ridiculously huge fight between some spanish kids and some asian kids. not on the hip hop floor, hun . Anyway, i had an INSANE night. probably the best nite i've had at Exit. and all i had was a redbull. Tiesto is king.

Posted by twilochik on Dec-15-2001 18:36:

hmmmm...weird that you saw a crazy fight....if you were facing the dj booth I hung out to the right of it all nite....by the speakers...I didnt see any fighting....

Posted by night_train on Dec-15-2001 18:37:

The first 3 songs were definitly:
Hooligan - Hear You Now (Grandchillas Mix)
Tiesto - Dallas 4PM
New Order - Crystals (Lee Coombs Mix)

Then I lost track of order, but he also played:
4 Strings - Into The Night
Pulser - Cloudwalking
Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)
Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Remix)
Tiesto - Magik Journey
Tiesto - Obsession
Tiesto - Lethal Industry
Vaiio - Rapture (Deep Dish Mix)
Dave Matthews - Space Between (Tiesto Mix)
Delerium - Silence
Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Main Mix)
Ralphie B - Massive
Tiesto - Urban Train
Windsider - Hidden Flight
PPK - Resurrection
Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Mix)

Hopefully, I'll remember some other later ....

Posted by TranceRob on Dec-15-2001 18:42:

I was closer to the stage area and didn't see any fighting... as i said in my previous post... even though it was crowded and people were pushing, it was all good. Didn't see any fights at all.

Posted by Shamez214 on Dec-15-2001 19:01:

the fight was by the stage at around... 1 - 1:30 maybe... anyway, who cares. twilochik, i was rite by the right hand side corner of the booth facing Tiesto. hard to see me cause im a little kid and im not juiced up like everyone else. i kept screaming "YEAAAAAAAA!!!!" when it got really quiet.

Posted by TranceRob on Dec-15-2001 19:07:

Wow. Must of missed the fight. But who cares... still it was an awesome time!

Posted by TwiloNYC on Dec-15-2001 19:28:

I thought Tiesto was pretty good. Not as trancey like his usual self... alittle more housey in the beginning of his set. slower paced then got progressively harder & trancy. Overall he was good but not great. it was just too hot and too crowded. the crowd was a joke! if i wasnt being pushed by juiceheads or my ladies were getting grinded by cheeseballs, it was 15yr old girls asking me if I had drugs. the vibe sucked.... even though it was tiesto, the night still got ruined by the crowd. overall i would say the night was OK...nothing spectacular. I thought his night @ world was better.... people were more into him (better vibe) and he spun better tunes.

btw, i was the asian dude wearing a VANDIT t. i couldnt make the meetup @3 cause i had to take care of a freind who got pretty messed up.....

Posted by Phazon on Dec-15-2001 21:11:

Arrow TwiloNYC

Do you remember a kid pointing out your shirt and complimenting it? That was me.
Twilochik, since thats your lipstick, im never washing my shirt again.
Tiesto14..Where were you man? I asked if anyone met you but they all said no.
One more to add to the list..
Nalin & Kane - Open your eyes (vocal mix?)

Posted by RichieRich on Dec-15-2001 21:17:

he also played a diff remix of "in my memory" early in the set. id love to get my hands on that mix...excellent

Posted by tiesto14 on Dec-15-2001 21:43:

TwiloNYC
.....like i said earlier i think the crowd at World was definatley better like you said also.....it seems like you and I are the only one who didnt enjoy it that much.....I guys you and I like the same type of crowds and vibe.....

ohwell..i am VERY HAPPY other TAs had a good time....maybe next time will be better for me....

Posted by Tranz on Dec-15-2001 22:28:

I'm glad I didn't bother wasting my time going to Exit last nite. I can't imagine him playing in that k-hole of a club. Too many juiceheads/ravers running around in there. I saw him 4 times this year, that's enough. He played nearly the same tracks the last 2 times.
