Cool Crazy Malamute - Free To Ride (U.B.I's Fat Tire Mix)

what are everyones opinion on this gatecrasher classic from 98? fits into trance and hard trance sets, with that amazing breakdown and motorbike sample with the spanish guitars.

i dont think it gets praised enough

i think its superb, and still gets played today by the likes of scott bond and eddie halliwell

quite hard to get hold of on vinyl, but when u do...expect to pay above 40 for it

i like a lot of things about this tune...but i don't really like the motorcycle samples tbh...just the part after the breakdown hehehe

This is quality tune, totally under-rated.

Tune!!!

Ended Guy Ornadel's Mix CD - Licenced To Thrill

Followed Parker & Clind - Generator

Why is trance like this not made anymore?

Makes me sad, but thenI guess it was so much easier back then to be original.

I've always loved Guy's mixes both live, and cd. If you dont have any of his cd's I recommend you get at least one of them, they are amazing, and this is the kinda trance its packed full off!

Prog heads will also adore CD2 of his Slinky Super CLub DJ's Complilation, ending on "private taste - first"

Mind blowing stuff...

yes i have guys licence to thrill, the tracks onit are brilliant.......mixing could have been tidyier but who cares

A top class DJ, and bloke.

I thought his mixing is uaully pretty good, once though when he was at gatecrasher i was told he got so drunk he couldnt beatatch at all...

LMAO!

He didn't look that drunk to me. He was just shit. And that would be because he is a shit DJ.

Free to Ride is average at best, it does it's job I suppose. But if I ever have to hear Scott Bond play it again I will break it in half and shove it up his arse.

so whats so 'average' about it.........cos its not your average kinda tune.

everyone to there own i suppose

It doesn't do anything for me. Infact it annoys me a bit. This might be down to the fact that Scott Bond has played it near enough everytime I have had the misfortune of seeing him, as briefly mentioned in my above post.

purchase some fucking earplugs when he's on then

never did it for me. Just one of the 'nearly' tunes that got eclipsed by so many other gems & i never had any sort of affirmation for it

Posted by raydn on Aug-26-2005 01:31:

Doesn't do anything for me really, I think the sample spoils it. Can not see why on earth it goes for so much on ebay.

Posted by thesuperfunk on Aug-26-2005 12:13:

dire.

Posted by Prototrance on Aug-26-2005 14:04:

Didn't like it when I first came across it on the gatecrasher 'wet' compilation. Now for some odd reason I like it.

Admittedly it doesn't do anything spectacular but I do love the bit where the tempo slows for ages, the final bass note is time stretched to death, works well in a club.

Can't see what makes this tune "underrated", nothing that special about it really. Got the attention it deserved I guess.
