[Melodic Trance] Romi - Technological World (full version)

As promised the full version of my latest 'Technological World'. A trancer with a hard edge but also with emotional melodies (well, just the way i like them). I hope you enjoy it.

Well, everybody who liked it should have it by now, so from now on only a sample.

sweet...first to reply.

dun get me wrong, this is a damn good song, with this and "dream machine" you got me keeping tabs on your stuff ...but i'm going to nitpick to see if i can still offer some opinions.

at the 59s mark, right before the phrase begins, there seems to be an odd double kick...not sure if that is there on purpose but it sounds a little out of place.

when the teasing of the main synth and main melody come in at 1:26...can't quite put my finger on it, but it seems a little too sudden and obvious? after awhile it's ok, but at first it throws me off a little.

when the strings come in at 2:12, i think you could fade it in a little more...the attack is a little too strong.

other then this...i like a lot. the breakdown is a total killer. while the melodic structure of this is nothing like it, this song reminds me a lot of Kota - Waiting and the main synth in that. makes me think of "older" times when trance was still f*ckin' good.

good job.

oh yes! hit he nail on the head with the buildup.

i love this a lot. im wanting more..

i was so hoping there would be another break so the tune would come back again.. extended?

top quality tune and better than the usual epic style trance. id just extend by two mins or so.

i dont know whether this is uplifting or sad cos the melody is a bit of both.

original and top notch in my opinion!

Thanks for the replies guys. And b i n k u n, i agree with you on the attack of the strings, it will be changed in the hq-version . I will send you guys a pm when it's ready.

i think this is a beautiful song. fantastic. the main lead is so simple and beautiful. however it does get a little repetative after a while. why not change it up towards the end a bit?

absoluteley love it. great work. thanks for sharing.

Great sounding here Romi, nice full sounding with lots of edits and fx and uplifting swing on with the percs.

In the break maybe try to make the strings more wide and solid, would do them lot good.

Nice lead lead sound. Seems a bit dull sounding tho, seems to lack high end. Melody is ok, but lacks hook, it's as if I'm waiting now for another melody line or lead.

Great stuff m8, need remixers?

ahhh yes full version =).
great tune man. After a few times listening to it I got really addicted to the melody. (and believe me, that doesn't happen a lot these days)
w00000t!
keep it up man! love your work

Great stuff Romi,u got this track signed yet?

Posted by Corteoz on Aug-28-2005 17:45:

Really good track!
Wanna do a track with me? I'm at about the same production level.
Just PM me, and I'll send you some of my stuff.

What sequencer do you use? I'm guessing FL.

Thanks again for the nice replies, and no, it's not signed yet, should it be?

Great opening (reverse cymbals excepted), percussion is nice and energetic.

I also like the introduction of the main lead before the break.

During the break it switches to "classic strings" didn't expect that ... but it works .
Introduction of the bassline during the Break isn't "massive" enough for my taste (e.g."Delerium_Innocente_-_Tiesto Mix" ...yeah yeah yeah ... Tiesto, i know) ... but the lead is probably taking up to much headroom.

Melody is what i call real trance, as always from ROMi.

All in all, I LIKE IT !

upon listening many times i would say this track is very good indeed and ready for release but i agree with groundzero that the bass that comes in during the break isnt quite grabbing enough. it sounds perfect but maybe you could use a different bass sound thats less obvious?

however even after nit-picking, i would recon you have a viable track for release on a big label...

Posted by Four_On_Four-er on Aug-29-2005 22:43:

Killer track here. The buildup is perfect, the bass worked well.

Sure the bass in the buildup could have been improved a tad, but this is really good.

As a matter of fact - the leads and motif of the whole track remind me a little too much of Ferry Corsten's "Sublime (Thrillseekers Remix)" for comfort - but take that as a real compliment anyways. I was just listening to that today - shudders.

hey romi

nice synths, percussions alright. nice break too. might have to play this out!

Good tune, musically all there - nice melodies, pretty standard but effective layout.

Production is clean and pro-sounding, although not incredibly intricate - although that doesn't really detract from the quality of the track (I just tend to prefer really intricate production )

Only got a couple of thoughts - firstly, in the main break where the strings come in at 2:11 I think you could either do with more layers of strings to make it sound like a full orchestral job, really grab the atmosphere, or instead maybe put in some sweeping atmospheric kind of sounds to 'give it a bit more' if you know what I mean, keep it interesting.

Also, the perc in the main section could do with a bit more variation, it sounds like it's literally just a 2 bar loop which, although it doesn't sound bad, I think would sound better with more changes in the patterns to keep it interesting.

That's all

6.5/10 - looks like I'm getting a bit precise in my old age

(Scale: 0 = don't bother, 1-3 = needs work, 4-5 = nearly there, 6-8 = releasable, 9-10 = outstanding)

Posted by Four_On_Four-er on Aug-31-2005 01:26:

I'm in love with this track... even though it's fairly standard for uplifting in terms of musical style, I can't get enough of that distorted oboe. It's so sad... I love it.

Thx for the comments .

Very, very, very beautiful melody! One of the best tunes i heard here in last 6 monts.

Posted by Drik on Aug-31-2005 08:11:

Very good percussion and a funky beat. Great intro, the blips are really dreamy and interesting. Keeps a nice buildup.

One thing I thought of was maybe having some echo from some element hanging in the break so it doesnt get so quiet there.

Great strings and a sweet melody, good stuff this
Oooh, nice reentry of the drums

Maybe have some lead alternate to your main melody and fade in during around 5 min?

Good stuff anyway, well done!
