The Technics Legacy?

Is there a site with a pic/model number of every technics turntable released? With approx. retail prices at the time. I'd be interested in seeing the techincs 'discography'...

ok so there is the
SL-1210MK2 (Black)
SL-1200MK2 (Silver)
SL-1210MK5 (Black)
SL-1200MK5 (Silver)

But whats the difference between the MK5 and MK2?

Then there is the newer
SL-1210M5G
which has more in depth specs which is obviously more expensive than the first four.

Now whats the Gold Edition that came out? And are there any other special editions that were released?

EDIT i read something about the M3Ds where they like a side model that was released similar to the M5G? Where there any other side projects like these?

The gold editions from my understanding were special models made for DMC winners. They had their choice of a gold 1210 or gold Vestax mixer. Am I correct on that guys?

They're had two seperate runs of techs with gold hardware. They were/are available for purchase to the public.

The 30th anniversary, limited edition GOLD TECHNICS 1200 turntable is here! Same turntable as the current model Technics 1200MSL-1210M5G, but it's gilded with 24 karat gold. To commemorate over 3 million SL-1200s sold, Technics is producing an extremely limited run of only 3000 SL-1200GLD turntables, only 1500 of which will be available in the USA. Joyryde will have at least 200 of them available. Each turntable will have a gold plaque which reads "Limited Edition, Product Certificate No.____".

Are there actually differences in the amount of torque between the Mk5's and Mk2's and m3d's?

Posted by Prism on Aug-26-2005 05:25:

hey bent @ http://www.panasonic.com/consumer_e...pare_analog.asp look at the compare chart they all have the same torque. The latest M5G isn't any different, other than the digital pitch slider, longer lasting LED light, rebuilt tone arm and a pound lighter than previous models lol

there was a huge comparison of all the different tech's done in a thread on here a while back you should search for it.
