Exorcism of Emily Rose

Get ready to be scared shitless on Sept 9! This preview of the movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" scared me so much. I had to turn on all the lights upstairs.
Here is the preview..

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/...rose/index.html

The deep devilish voice is the real voice of Emily Rose the priests recorded in the 70's when they went to do the exorcism.

Demons and ghosts scare me

I feel weird after watching that

Anyone else get freaked out and scared??

The fact that it is based on a true story makes it really creepy!

This looks sooo flipping scary!

For some reason I find exorcism movies the scariest off all the horror type genres. The possibility that it could somehow happen to someone in "real life" scares the bejusus out of me.

Oh man heres hoping no one I know ever needs to have an exorcism!

i cannot watch exorcism movies. that stuff freaks me out way more than serial killers and shit. it sounds really good, but i don't think i'd be able to watch it. i can't even watch the exorcist!

anything to do with someone being posessed by the devil scares the CRAP out of me!!!!

Once I had to be exorcized after I drank chocolate milk made from the ashes of my dead friend.

...no, wait a minute, that was South Park...

Saw this trailer about a month ago and it still gives me chills.

wait, they actually made a movie about that????

wow !!!

i've heard some of those tapes long time ago and i did really big research about what happened to that poor girl.

her name was anneliese michel, she had epilepsy but imo she was really posessed. to preform exoricism one would need infestatio - a proof of posession (and that includes lotsa weird things) and only vatican can give that. even tho they would never admit it, order came from some cardinal and 2 priests did rituale romanum - act of exoricism (there is something weird about that, all i can remember it was really old ritual that was changed after she died cause it caused her death, im not really sure, it was a long time ago). there was big bullshit after she died, catholic churc said that she was not posessed (even tho they gave an order for exoricism) and priests went to jail (for murder).

now keep in mind that this happened in 70's, and i really believe that nobody tampered with them tapes (i think there was some 20-ish of them). i heard one or 2 and that shit was unreal. i mean, there was no way that them sounds could come out of any persons throat, no way. later i found out that there was some 10-15 persons manifesting themselves tru her, hitler was one of them and the most interesting thing was when he spoke he did it in australian accent, so imo there was no way that she could faked that.

this really happened so when you go and see a movie (even tho its gonna be hollywoods interpretation of what happened) remember, that really happened.

Hollywood to tarnish the story of Anneliese Michel?
----------------------------------------------------
This 22-year-old woman was a student at the University of Wrzburg and in the late 1 970s exhibited symptoms including spasms, writhing, speaking in devilish tongues construed by her devout Catholic family as diabolic possession. The archbishop of Wrzburg concurred with their diagnosis and entrusted two priests to perform the Exorcism from the 17th-century Rituale Romanum. To the embarrassment of the church, the victim died of starvation during the procedures, for the exorcists had added the discipline of fasting to the other means of driving out the demons. Insult was added to embarrassment when the district attorney's investigation and a trial found the two priests guilty of negligent manslaughter.

------------------------------------------------------
Also:
It began in 1968, in Bavaria, Germany... when Anneliese Michel (aka Emily Rose) - a very religious girl) has a seizure. Paralysed and shaking she cant call her 3 sisters, or her parents (Josef and Anna) for help. A neurologist at the Psychiatric Clinic Wrzburg diagnosed Epilepsy Type 'Grand Mal'. Depressions, often occurring after those epilepsy attacks, have not been recognized.

After a long stay at the hospital, Anneliese begins to see devilish images during her daily praying. In the fall of 1970 she starts believing that she is possessed, as she couldn't find any other reason for the images she sees. And now, voices are following her, saying to her, that she will "stew in hell".

In the summer of 1973 her parents ask different pastors for an exorcism. The Catholic chaplains reject and recommend, to continue the medication on the now 20 year old Anneliese.

In September 1975, the Bishop of Wrzburg, Josef Stangl, assigns Father Arnold Renz and Pastor Ernst Alt with the order, to perform "The Great Exorcism" on Anneliese Michel. The basis for this ritual is the Rituale Romanum, still valid Canon Law from the 17th century.

At that point some of her behavioural characteristics included:

* insulting, beating and biting family members
* refusal to eat regular meals (claimed the demons wouldnt allow her)
* consumption of spiders, flies, coal, and her own urine :-X
* destruction of crucifixes, paintings of Jesus, and rosaries
* tearing of clothes from her body
* urinating on the floor
* acts of self-mutilation

So you have to admit that even if its not proof of possession, its seriously messed up, or at least very messy.

The 23 year old student, Anneliese Michel, dies on the 1st of July 1976 after an exorcism that lasted about 9 months...

A little bit before these events took place, William Friedkins 'The Exorcist' came to the cinemas in Germany (1974), and started a paranormal hysteria all over the country. Psychiatrists all over Europe, reported of an increase of obsessive ideas in their patients.

For the Prosecutors, the factual situation is more than bizarre. It took almost 2 years, until the "Klingenberg Case" was brought to court. Annelieses parents and the 2 exorcists were accused of negligent homicide. There were only 2 questions to answer.

1. What caused the death of Anneliese Michel?
2. Who was responsible for it?

Oh come on, we go to exorcisms each Thursday night at our local arena.

Good times I tell ya, we all have a few beers, there's lots of food to be had, and a few demons get sent back to hell.

Just like watching Monday Night Football.

Posted by dRale on Aug-26-2005 05:57:

I watched the preview, it actually looks interesting and entertaining. Totally worth 11$ to go and see it, that is if I could convince my friedns to go, which is doubtful of course.

Oh well, would've been cool to see though.

didnt look too unappealing at all.

I saw this on ET last night, and the pictures and the sounds of those tapes scared the hell outta me. I'm so not a horror movie person. So I doubt there is any chance of me catching this one.

Posted by Irishaddict on Aug-26-2005 14:43:

I'm probably going to go see it.

And subsequently probably not going to sleep.

everything is based on a real story nowadays. like what the hell is going on with people's obsession about having something called a 'reality', and being so much better because "it actually happened."

whatever..
The movie looks horrible from the trailer, i don't know how you could tell if it's scary. Regardless, I didn't find anything appealing about it yet. Maybe wait for some reviews.

Posted by ++ EGO ++ on Aug-26-2005 15:22:

on a much lighter note; i'd rather see cronenberg's film which is out around the same time.

Posted by arek on Aug-26-2005 16:01:

im looking forward to seing this, i love horror movies....

I just hope they don't make it too "hollywood" and cheese it up so that you can't look past that and be really scared.....

Posted by bluE_Neon on Aug-28-2005 03:47:

No doubt in my mind that this will be one scary movie. I'm wondering how the Catholic church will react to this movie? This movie will be highly critized for sure as they know what really happened. We all know that, the Catholic church is known for centuries to holding a lot spiritual truths.

Posted by arek on Aug-28-2005 08:36:

as long as i see a pair of titties in this movie it'll be 5out of 5.

nothin more sexy than a pair of knockers in a horror flick..

and scary than a hangy pair of hooters, drooooping all over the screen..
