Oi!

The only reason that I am dull is because I haven't been sharpened lately...

wow

thats some crazy patriotism there.

i know that israel is a nice place but so are other countries.

Personally I have no loyalty to Canada...I was born here and lucky enough to have the silver spoon put in my mouth. I wouldn't defend Canada nor would I fight for canada....it is just a piece of land where I live. I can't stand all these people that have all this patriotism for their home land....americans being at the top of that shit pile.

agreed fully, i have a huge problem with patriotism as well...all because of religious extremism and the idiots (politicians, media) who exploit it ( HUGE examples found in USA, Israel, Palestine, iraq)

That is true....but I am not getting a maple leaf tattoo. I can proudly cheer for my team but I don't cheer for Canada just because I was born and live here.

that's some f**d up shit. ... that's what i thought when i first read it! ...by young ppl our age...well, i guess it's something to strongly believe in and identify with. ... that's what seems to be missing in canada, i find many a time - although i'd rather have it without the extremism, & without the overpowering 'competitive' intention.

obviously.

That's sad to hear.

I for one, will gladly take your place on that pedestal proudly

I am glad canada is missing all that....that is what causes so many problems...it is bound to lead to extremes.

The true question is why are you proud to be a Canadian? Would you be willing to die for your country...I know I wouldn't....that being said...I would fight and die for the rights and freedoms I have as a canadian. If the United states decided to take over canada but guaranteed us that our lives would not change we would just be named america north instead of canada would you die to keep the name canada. I wouldn't.

And I have no issue with that.

There will always be people that are willing to sacrifice for what they believe in to be good and true.
Every time I think of those Canadian men (and women) that selflessly volunteered their lives during D-Day so that I can remain in a free country, even though I wasn't even born, still blows me away.
I would hope that there are still men and women to this day that would do the same, should the calling come.
(To some extent, those that work for the Police and Fire Departments still are...)

People can call it patriotism if they wish, and they'd be partically correct. I'd call it just doing what's right.

Yea, the mod's comments for closing the thread certainly were strange...

"...try to keep things simple and hebrew"? wtf? lol!
