What programs do you use to mix mp3
I use traktor DJ studio but i cant stand it and i want to change it to other good program
Virtual DJ. Simply the best program I have ever used to date. Traktor is SOOO FUGLY and all around is NOT user friendly for novice DJ's. I have been a software DJ for just under a year now and a hardware DJ for about 1 month. Started off with AtomixMP3 and it was great but had limited features but was the best program for any new DJ's starting off. Eventually switched over to Traktor around March 2005 and got extremely annoyed with the interface. Decided to try Virtual DJ and have not switched to anything else since. Its so customizable, everything from skins, to effects to samples... as well it has support for various hardware controllers. I have also tried Ableton Live and MixVibes but again the program interface was just not what i was looking for.
My setup right now is a Tascam X-9 Professional Digital Mixer, Two XP10 controllers (made and mapped to work with Virtual DJ -- they are so amazing), Virtual DJ, and Technics RP-DH1200 headphones.
If you would like to see pictures of a setup that looks similar to mine message me or just reply to this post.
Enjoy

works fine here
First software prog i ever used to mix mp3/wav files was PCDJ-RED, this is a good/stable program IF
you run dual soundcards with audio out running thru an external mixer(Vestax,Gemini,Pioneer) like you do with regular decks. The waitlist section can be a pain to figure out, it should just be... add a file, right click then select, scan bpm or gain and not add to waitlist first then scan.
PCDJ-FX(best w 2 soundcards) is also good/stable and has more features. Lots of good effects.
BPM-Studio(best w 2 soundcards) is also good/stable.Nice interface. Lots of good effects. (pcdj is better)
Traktor Dj Studio: I like but only with Final Scratch.Good/Stable. Lots of good effects. Ugly interface
MixVibes(best w 2 soundcards):I found to be a good/stable program, but it's menu's to be a bit wacky and some of it's interface just as weird.Lots of good effects.
Ott's Dj: I found to be totaly worthless.
VTT(virtual turn tables): was one of the first programs. Do they even update this prog anymore ???
Mixmeister: Ok people will argue that this not dj'n/mixing. pffftt ! This is a great piece of software, yes you don't have 2 decks to mix with, it's more like SF Acid the way it looks. The biggest problem with this prog is the learning curve to use it, have you ever used intro and outro sprockets when making a mix. Read The F@$%ing Manual is a must. But once you do you'll find you can edit part of a song(loop, add filter, effect or delete) without destroying the origonal file. Once you get really good you can lilteraly create a 1hr beat mix in like 20 mins. Still good program to have or play around with.(in the end a mix is a mix)
VDJ(VirtualDJ) Ok when these guys came out with Atomix a few 4 or 5 years ago it was the biggest joke. Bpm scan was inaccurate, and the worst part of it was it used so much cpu it would basicly bring your box to a halt including slowing the output sound from itself(no i will not argue the specs on my box then, atomix sucked back then and you know it!). With VDJ v2 and now VDJ v3 out they have created dual deck mixing bliss. What is really good about it are the skins. Depending on what skin you select, the options change. I'll post pics. You can also set it to time stretch(change pitch/speed without changing key) but you better have at least a 1.5ghz cpu a gig of ram and 128mb+ vid card. You can also set it to change tempo(pitch) like a regular turntable.Easy to mix even with one soundcard and no external mixer
Great for new and seasoned dj's.
IMO PCDJ series & VDJ 3 are the best for just mp3's
I'm running a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.05 GHz on an ASUS A7N8X-E, E-vga GeForce FX 5500 256mb Vid card, 1.5 gigs of pc3200 ram , Dual soundcards SB Live & Nvidia onboard audio. 1200 & TT1520 tables gemini and vestax mixers and a Stanton S-550 cd deck
