The Beatles were far more important than my lack of sleep would allow me to remember.
But yeah, I remember they were important, technically.

Didnt the beatles invent some musical technique??? Anyways if their songs came out today they would still sell a million+ records.

beatles kicked ass. i never liked John Lenon's solo career, though. I loved Mcartney's.

eh, i never got into the beatles. yeah i know their importance in the history of rock music and all that... but to me that's nothing really special.
and also i knew some people that were hardcore beatles fans and they would listen to the Beatles all day 24/7 and it just got really old, really fast.
They're ok I guess, if you're into that sort of thing.

The Beatles were probably the best band from early to mid 60's. But even still they had that cheesy pop sound around that time no?
...then bands like:
The Doors
Jimi Hendrix
The Grateful Dead
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Santana
Black Sabbath
emerged around mid to late 60's...most who were more lyrically/musically advanced than The Beatles...
Im sure the Beatles were a big influence to most of these bands, but thats irrelevent, to me at least. I wont hold them in a higher regard just because they were an influential band. To me, their sound nowdays is nothing revolutionary compared to other 60's bands. The Beatles are kinda like U2. overrated and overpraised.
