Vocal tips

Hey everyone. I want to know if any of you have tips for working with vocalists. I have never done any vocal trance and I recently was contacted by someone who wanted to collab with vocals. He contacted me because I had the production skills that his group did not... :/ Anyway, since I really know nothing about working with vocals... could you help by answering these questions and adding anything else?

Do you typically make the song first with an idea of where the vocals will go or do you get the vocals first and build the song around that?

Is there any sort of blueprint for how a vocal trance track should be assembled?

Any other tips?

Thanks in advance

-Adam

There are other tutorials on it as well.
