Cool [prog vocal] Digital Aura - Introspective (Redemption Mix)

Greetz!

One of my P5 peers sent me his vocals and let me do this remix...he's got a great voice that TOTALLY sounds like Depeche Mode.

Man!

Wow what a great percussive intro! I REALLY like! The distored guitars are sucha refreshing touch to the genre! The vocals sound so soothing!
I'm sorry to be such a bother, but can I add this to my MP3 player?

Those arps are so cool!
The Highhat Works is well executed!
OMG I really enjoy listening to those vocals man!
CAn I meet your friend? lol
We should collab sometimes, I really love your melody work. When the 4/4/ kick came in it was absolutely my squealing like a girl point!

This would sound so awesome made into a club banger my friend!

You did a great JOb!

Yeah..you can add it for sure. I'll let him know that his vox work so well! I hope to do more with his vocals....I know he said he loved my remix so we'll see!

Very interesting track, i love the whole ambiance of it, very mellow sounds and cool synths. The singer has got a nice voice, indeed a bit DM yes. It got a bit of a synthpopfeel over it now. I sometimes do remixes for a synthpoplabel and your track sounds a bit like my remixwork. Maybe you could add some more percussion, it sounds a bit too empty now imo. Other than that i really like this one. Good job.

As you said. It sounds like Depeche Mode with a bit proggy sound.
I ust say that I really liked this track.
Great work mate.

Yup, DM influencez for sure, but very original also , I liked it man keep the good work .
Kopi =o.

Thanks fellas.

Yup Depeche Mode for sure but only so far as the vocals go. Personally, I never really listened to much of them...but Orphan (the vocalist) is a big fan of theirs naturally, as his voice is a dead-ringer!

Thanks again!

this sounds awesome, mate.

but you need to fix the bassline.. too much reverb + lack of low end.
other than that, this is perfect! the percussion is simple, yes, but i like it that way.. the mix will become too busy otherwise.

great job

Hey, listening. The drums are amazing, really enjoying this so far. Really great quality, what programs are you using? This is really nice with the vocals floating around, its not cheesy at all its really what trance is supposed to be. Awesome break 2:35 \o/.

Those vocals are awesome, reminding me of 80's songs. This is like a REAL trance track, not cheesey and not badly produced! I really like this keep it up man.

Amazingly powerful...

The subtle vocals, the quirky guitar... everything else screamed quality. The drums are rather cool with the touches of reverb you applied to them. Yes, there are vintage touches applied to this track, as the drums sound 80-ish and the synthpop comments warrant attention. That is a very good thing... I like the whole atmosphere of this track.

Phenominal!

sounds great except for that kick and that element surrounding it. bit tired right now so can't help much. vocals nice, guitar nice, prog feel, layering, etc etc all fine except that kick and that other thing with it ruins it.

Posted by Digital Aura on Sep-03-2005 20:56:

Thanks guys!

TOR.. not enough low end?? hmmm... I agree the bassline is simple, but I haven't heard anyone say it was too thin.

madliq - coming from you that's a real compliment! Your stuff is great...still listening to the ones you listed.

4 on 4er - dude, glad you liked it! It's got an old 80's synthpop feel but vintage...i dunno.

Commisad - that KICK took me darn near forever to get all those elements around it!! Oh well...can't win em all, I loved this kick. The only one of mine I liked!

Overall it's really good and unexpected.

I was under the impression some parts were a little empty.

The vocals are good but seem to lack coherence or following with the track in some parts.

I'm a bit critical I know but here's what I wanted to add:

I rarely listen to stuff in here as unfortunately a lot doesn't seem seriously worked on or is just a recreation of something already done 10 times before. You win for originality and beauty. I really appreciate this!
I'm sending the link to a resident dj friend of mine in Zurich and he'll do some crowd testing I think

Ps: a slamming 4 / 4 remix of this track would so own!

I love the drive on it! Nice percs and melodies, but something lack in this track... Maybe try to put another kick and to enrich the percs (especially the hats & shakers things). This track has a huuuuuuge potential!

Wowwww! Such a fantastic tune. The vocals are haunting but lovely and the atmosphere is fantastic! 4.5/5
Big ups from Australia...

Digital Aura, sup man.

Brilliant intro, pretty original use of percussion. Those verby acidy fx are really fitting too, they give it a very dark feel. Yeah, the vocals remind me a lot of Depeche Mode too; awesome!

Great track, gonna keep this one.

This is not my cup of tea... Too boring for me But it sounds ok. Nice sounds, and good structure.

Posted by Digital Aura on Sep-06-2005 12:48:

Thanks a ton guys for the feedback...I will look at improving or thickening the percs. Grrr...my weakest area for sure.

Was disappointed that Alex wasn't enthused with it (I love his uplifting stuff) but I guess this isnt uplifting and may not appeal. Big thanks to jdat and COl for the comments...jdat... lemme know if you would like a link to better quality format. I'd love to have more DJ's spinnin' my stuff.

very nice melodies in this

a bit slow for me though

i would really hear this more in an action / thriller movie than on a dancefloor. Those choirs and vocals are AWESOME !

great work, not for a dancefloor though IMO

wow! Excellent! I would get this copyrighted if you haven't already! My first impression was that something was missing or hollow. But after the second listen, I like it like that. Everything is perfectly in its' place. I could see Sasha spinning this! What a great prog track!

Try posting this on the boards over at global underground. I'm sure you would get even a greater response there with this genre!
