Santana bday bash at Amp REVIEW and PICS

Here are some pics for now I loved seeing everyone. You Miami and Orlando guys rock for making the drive and coming up for this party. Review will come later, I had a good time of course, despite some issues that I will be writing an email to Amp about. Paul your set was great as usual. You just needed more time, ESPECIALLY when it's for YOUR bday bash. I'm sure the other reviews will sum it up as well.

WTF?

I started to post this in the other thread, but Colleen has directed me to this one...so here goes my copy and paste. Sorry for the negative post.


Mondo's set was horrible. I have no words for that set. Paul was disrespected more than once last night (you guys don't know all of it). Paul not being able to spin until well after 1am was a joke. Who the hell did the Amp think all of those people were there to see??? I was there to have fun and to listen to my best friend spin. I was there for the music. I guess that's something the Amp won't ever understand...hence the shitty ass music being played before Paul went on. Brian on the mic was simply more than I could take. Notice that he shut the hell up after I had some words with him. At that point I didn't care about what someone's opinion was of me. Talking over Inter City...the track that I asked Paul to spin...pissed me the hell off. If I wanted to listen to Brian all night I would call him on the damn phone. Renzo getting arrested was quite interesting. I still don't know what transpired after he was asked to walk off by that one cop. Someone please enlighten me.

I want to thank all of you that drove in from Miami, Orlando, etc to be there last night...that truly meant a lot to me and Paul. I love you guys! A big thank you to our friend, Frederick, that flew in from CA last night.

Props to all of the TA's and CFM's that came out. You guys are the best!

Boy, I'LL say Mondo's set was crap! Not genre bashing here, but he mixed things in that shouldn't have been mixed in! Breaks with BOOTY rap/shit, a few old tracks with other stuff...it just didn't make any sense! I was sober most of the night so I remember some of that.....uh, I dunno. Silliness. Me and the SoFLTA kept making faces at each other. We said OMGWTFBBQ a LOT more than just once!

Paul's set: he opened with Paul van Dyk - The Other Side (Deep Dish remix), followed by Deep Dish - Say Hello (original mix?) All great track selection. The thing is though, everytime the ad for the radio show came on, I thought it was a trainwreck, but I heard nothing but flawless mixing. Not to mention, that damn fool on the mic kept running his mouth during oh, I don't know...99.9 percent of the night? For fuck sake. Nice job Amber putting that tool in his place. I recorded about an hour and 20 minutes of video which I will get to encoding by the end of this week, hopefully. Oh yeah, the sex show just before Paul went on. I was like, WHAT THE FUCK. I didn't expect to see THAT in the Amp. That was bizarre, last place I'd see that was at Vegas Cabaret and at least there was more revealed female flesh. Took only a few pics last night. Will be posted in a bit. But anyway...

Regardless of the weirdness (and aftermath drama outside), I had a great time. Was grest seeing everyone out there, and many thanks to Paul for getting us in on the guest list AND VIP. Damon stopped by and in uniform, and I was like, "Oh SHIT. We're in trouble now!"

Was awesome road-tripping up with Eric, Mel, Flo, Karen, Lis and Anthony. Nice meeting trancengry56, who rarely posts in FLTA. All in all a good night.

Santana - U fuking rocked it! You need to teach that opening dj a couple things.. or 2... or 3... anyways, I don't think u could have ended the set a better way! Don't know the name of the 3rd to last track but I know Marcel Woods spins it, which makes u uber cool in my book!!

Colleen and Amber you ladies rock! I am going to kidnapp you guys and keep you here in miami!! I love you ladies So much fun to be around Even though the music at first was torturing me.. I still had a blast fuking around! The radio guy TOTALLY fuking embarassed me but it's all good

Everyone that I met.. [ it was a lot ] you all are awesome! It was great having our big ass group together just dancing n poking fun at shit! It was awesome! I had a great time

Very great/crazy night!

The first, and it's an insult to DJ's to call him a DJ, guy sucked...his music (or lack thereof) was WHAAAAACK! omg talk about not knowing how to spin and throwing down some retarded ass tracks...breaks into hip-hop? I wish Santana would have gotten on earlier
(which brings me to my next review) because he did AWESOME! Very goooood set...PROPS! When he played E-Craig .: Call It a Day, Mel & I went INSAAAAAANE clapping, dancing, jumping...lol. She was tapping me screaming E-CRAIG! He also played from what I remember:

It was so nice to see the Tampa TA's...including Colleen (finally we officially met!), Amber (sooooo great seeing you again) you ladies are wonderful and were so nice to us...they showed us wonderful hospitality! Even Damon the SWAT man...I couldn't believe my eyes. lol.

Anywho the live acts were crazy...lol the pervie one LMAO we were all pretty much staring at the stage like haha. The glow girl & guy were pretty cooool! I got some pics on my phone, I need to e-mail them to see if I can get them on here.
Flame dude was outta hand lol.

and last but def. not least...Renzo goes to Jail 1.0
I keed. but yeah that was some crazy stuff...I couldn't believe it happened. Hope everything turned out ok.

I had a blast in Tampa with all the Tampa TA's and including the MIA TA'S...Eric thanks for the first round of shots (and for introducing me to el DON) haha...I ended up having 3 that night.

After the party..the hotel was fun toooo

Weeeeeeeeeell. I tried to arrive as early as possible. As usual I'm always 15 minutes late. When I arrived at the club there were already 80% of the people on the over 100 ppl guest list there. I was bombarded by friends, fans and family saying hi, happy birthday, what time do you go on etc. I must say I was quit excited about the turnout. I've gotta say thanks to Russ from www.1CLUB.fm for hooking us up with the VIP area downstairs. (Russ you're tha shit. Thanks for everything. I only wish you could have stayed longer on Sunday.)

The only other thing that could have made the night better is if all the TA's would have made it over to my place afterward. By the time I made it outside everyone had already left. Next time we'll make it happen.

Thanks to everyone who traveled so far from Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville even Cali. It really means a lot to me. Also thanks to those who are close: Amber, Terry, Colleen, Sammy, John, Angel, Tony, Chris, Jess, Carrie, Jeff, Bobby, Jennifer, Sergio (thanks for the card) for those whom I have forgotten here, sorry .

Thanks again everyone for coming out. I had an absolute blast. I'll have the link to my mix posted in the next couple days.

Indeed. I couldn't remember the name of the remix at the time but now I found it.


Chicane featuring Maire Brennan of Clannad - Saltwater (Tomski Citizens vs. Disco Citizens remix.) An unbeliavbly BEAUTIFUL track, I'd heard Edgar V throw this one down at Release in West Palm Beach in Summer of '04 , as well as on the PVD @ Amnesia, Ibiza Summer '03 liveset. I was lip-synching along to this tune, it was just AMAZING at the Amp.
