im so worried / pissed :( (katrina)
as you all know i moved here from biloxi 3 weeks ago. i cant get in touch with my mom, i talked to her earlier today and shes leaving my 2 cats in our house and we are less than half a mile away from a HUGE bayou which lets out into the gulf, and it surged 6 feet last time this weak cat. 4 came through and we had to evac. shes afraid to drive on the interstate cause shes a worry freak, so she fuckin goes to my neighbors and is getting a ride with them to where ever they go.
besides my few close friends in mississippi my 2 cats were the only things i found comfortin, in my life. ive had one for 5 years and one for 6. one was given to me as a xmas present from my ex girl.
the last major 5 that hit biloxi was camielle (sp?) and it leveled it, this was before there was 11 casinos and biloxi was a shit hole, now its actually a decent place to live. i cant get in touch with my mom and miss my cats. fuck

thanks, i dont think things will get back to normal. my moms flying to south fla tommorow and shes going ot have to start looking for a job. the casino that she worked at is gone.
I was watching news coverage but I just couldnt watch anymore, it was bringing tears to my eyes. I am so sorry things happened the way they did to your mom's home and your cats. Rzo is right though they are extremely smart.

they're reporting that this cane was worse than Andrew and with that, I totally agree.
I really do hope that things don't turn out so bad, and that you get in contact with your mom.

thanks you guys. ireally dont know what to say besides thanks. and i know theres really nothing you can say. i guess not knowing anyone here is making this even harder. i cant get in touch with my mom anymore, she was supposed to be flying down to ft lauderdale today or tommorow. power isnt supposed to be on for a month and most of the casinos in biloxi are wiped out.
it looks like shes going to be moving down here and maybe trying to get a job at the hard rock or shes going to have to go back to school to finish her teaching degree. i really dont know what to do or what to say, ive really never thought i could ever feel this empty.
i need a night and early morning vacation at space

i got into an accident that wasnt my fault in my 04 wrangler, i was supposed to go pick it up this next week in ms, well ive had a rental car since i moved down here. well in 2 days the 30 days is up, for the insurance to cover the rental car. NO matter what. wtf is this bull shit, so now i have to pay 25$ a day for my rental car until my jeep is ready / totaled out. i have no clue what happened to the auto shop that was fixing my jeep.
i hope my jeep is trashed and i get money back for it because i paid my jeep off before i moved down here and lifted it up and put tires and a system in it. things just havent been getting any better, and now i gotta find a decent job insted of a bullshit job during college cause my moms work is gone and they can only pay her for vacation time and like 2 weeks after the hurricane or something. she was helping me out with a few minor things like my cell phone until i got settled in and found a part time job during college. ugh, i need to get some weed, i smoked my last bowl last night after my mom called and gave me the bad news
I'm sorry about what happened as well. hang in there.... I really want to do something to help everyone out down there... if anyone knows of anything, let me know..

i used to work at the beau rivage which is what they are showing on alot of the news. this sucks, its going to be so hard to concentrate on school right now

so sorry to hear about all the misfortune that has come your way. i live in mississippi too, but up north, and i can't begin to imagine what you're going through. it is really good to hear that your mother is safe. if she is into teaching i know of some teaching assistant jobs here and i have a girlfriend who runs an employment agency...not that she would be interested in living in this shithole. lol, just a thought though. what school are you at? i imagine they should be very understanding about this whole thing. when my school was hit by a tornado 2 years ago they closed school for an entire semester...that would give you a good chunk of time to relocate and get settled. the beau rivage was an incredibly beautiful casino ; can't believe it's gone. best of luck to you!

i was supposed to go pick up my jeep next week cause i was in an accident 2 days before i moved, not my fault. everyone knows in the fla ta forum how much shit ive gone through to get here, driven here 3 times driven back 2 to try and find aplace to live. ive been driving a shitty rental car and the insurance agency stops payin for the car after 30 dayss, and thats in 2 days. and the insurance agent said theres nothing they can do? wtf a hurricane comes and i dont have a car and your gonna stop paying for my car cause the policy is for 30 days only, but the collision shop is closed or might not even be there anymore and they cant do anything about it. zomgwtfbbq and power isnt supposed to be back on in ms for a month. i doubt autoshops are worried about fixing the cars in them right now.

nah its messed up bad, the parking garage is still up and so is the casino but ive seen video of the garage and im supprised its still standing, its wasted on the inside. water was up to the 6th floor at the beau of the garage, im sure the insides are wasted in the lobby and casino.
3 other casinos are gone and one is just dammaged. 5 total are out of commision. the hard rock which was supposed to open yesterday, now is back to 50% so itll be atleast a year and a half till its opened.
so many things are totalled. and the sad thing is the town i lived in which is right nextdoor to biloxi is smaller and mainly around water.
Pony up, kids. There are a lot of Disaster Relief Funds out there and no donation is too small.
this is horrible you are in my thoughts.
