Question pricematching at guitarcenter

how does it work? i can't just go up to the counter and tell em:

'yo! i seen this for cheaper."

what do i do? print out a page from a website or what?

Posted by Cheetah86 on Aug-28-2005 22:36:

Yup, show them a printed out website after you find the product in the store or ask them for it(before they start ringing you up).

just as long as the source of the pricematch is from an authorized retailer.

In some cases they may try and contact the place that's selling the item at the lower price just to check.

You planning a trip to the US soon?

Not that he'd ever post here, but they didn't contact the advertiser on AntronVee's CDJ 1000mk2 when he bought it about 2 months back, and it was actually lower than the cost that they bought them from Pioneer. And the manager who did it for us knew the ad was from unauthorized dealer, but did it anyways, even after aknowledging so (gotta love that, lol.) Aaaand the advertisement was only for the CDJ1000; we thought he'd give us a hassle b/c it didn't say MK2 but we somehow got out with no problems.

you see, a friend of mine is leaving for Florida tomorrow, so i was planning on giving him the money and have him pick up a CDJ-200 and having a pricematch done from here:

http://www.parkaveelectronics.com/p...DJ200&l=Froogle

why fork over almost an extra 100US if i can get it for that price?

now how do i know if this is an authorized dealer?

EDIT: it does mention full manufacturer warranty at the very bottom of the page.

well, i bought some US green, and printed out that site. got a little extra in case for taxes and whatnot. how much would that come up to? (i have about 370US on me, that enough to cover any extra charges? my friend will be physically getting it at the store)

Here is a list of Unauthorized Pioneer Dealers for your reference, and remember that pioneer does not cover warranty on items bought off ebay.

Here are some other deals on CDJ 200s and mixer combos that you might want to pricematch or look into:
-2x CDJ 200s & DJM-300S Mixer for $880

-2x CDJ 200s for $800

-2x CDJ 200s & DJM 707 mixer for $888

I was wondering if anyone would spot that...

errm? $295?

why does the Buy Online section at guitarcenter.com list for $399 then?

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...ase_pid/242119/

^^^ thats where GC.com links you to for online buying. so i doubt they'd have one price there, and another at the physical store. hope you're right though, it'd save me a bundle.

Posted by Cheetah86 on Aug-30-2005 17:19:

He means cost as in, the price they pay for it. Their price is still $399. They won't sell it below cost(I assume) because that would make them lose money.

Posted by Inertia on Aug-30-2005 18:15:

ahh.

damn. they make a pretyt nice profit off of it. i wonder how much a 1000Mk2 is at cost...

it'd own to have an inside hookup.

They didn't tell us the cost, but the add we had was for $800 for an MK2 and the guy said it was under cost...I can imagine that's accurate though, I think at the time they were going for $1100-1200.

approx $950, no lie, i hated selling cdj1000s because i never made any money off them. but there is ALOT of margin on the denon dns-5000s, i hooked up one of my boys with a pair of those for about $1300 selling them to him at cost.

and just to let everyone know, i worked at GC for about 6 months and left only a few months ago, so im still pretty familiar with their pricing. unfortunatly i dont work there anymore so i cant hook you guys up with anything but info.

Get to know one of the guys there... I know Shawn, Drew, and Matt... heh...

Whenever I talk to those guys they always give me teh dealz
