Visitor's Question About Toronto
Hi everyone, I'm going to be making a road trip up to Toronto this weekend for Labour Of Love from Philadelphia. Since none of us have been to Toronto before I thought maybe some of you could give us some suggestions on where to go for bars and restaurants.
We will be staying at the Hilton on Richmond Street West and were looking to go to a nice restaurant after we check in on Saturday, that is somewhat near the hotel and maybe hitting up some bars as well, depending on how tired we are from the 8 hour drive
Anways, thanks ahead of time for the help. I'm looking forward to rippig it this weekend. I met a couple of you the other week after PVD, who seemed to be a lot of fun but unfortunatly I was pretty mashed up at that point so I can't remember names. Well thanks again!

Lots of neat restaurants on Queen St just a block or so north from your hotel. Take a walk and you can't miss it!
Eggspectations, 220 Young Street, just a few blocks up from Gerrard...

| Originally posted by ProggieGuy Yes, I saw that, and we would to make it but it really depends upon when we end up making it into the city. Since the BBQ ends at 11 are there people planning on going out in the city afterwards? |
Since you are in Toronto for the first time, I suggest you use CN tower as your bearing. It will be south west of the Hilton. The Guvernment will be south east of the Hilton. I'm sure you have a map on how to get to the Guvernment, so Ill spare you the details.
If you are looking to go out on Saturday night, I suggest you go West on Richmond Street (that the hotel is on) and you will reach the Entertainment District. It's about a 5-10 minute walk. You can search for a place to party anywhere on Richmond street or Adelaide Street (a street just south of Richmond). There are many clubs there and your choices are plenty. Republik is one of the nicer clubs in the district and plays House in main room and Hip Hop in a smaller room. Republik stays open late. Lot 332 I hear is also a nice place to go to, and the music being played there is mostly Hip Hop, R&B, and some House. As I said there are many clubs in this area and you will probably have a good time wherever you go.
For food you can check out a few restaurants on King (two block south of Richmond) and 5 minutes west. These restaurants are just south of the Entertainment District. There are a few nice restaurants, such as Milestones, near the intersection of John and Richmond, which is in the middle of the Entertainment District. If you are into steaks, you can check out Ruth's Chris Steak House which is I believe in your hotel, and just east of your hotel you have Le Biftheque steak house.
Just to warn you, your hotel may seem like it's in the middle of nowhere once you are there and look around. But there are many things just a short walk in either West, East, or South Direction. Try to not go North as some polar bears were spotted in that direction.
Oh and remember to bring a jacket and snow boots. It gets cold up here, expecially at night.
