The Exorcism of Emily Rose *REVIEW* no spoilers

All in all, I thought it was an ok film....However, it was another great example of how the trailers and TV spots hugely misrepresented the movie. The movie itself focused more on the actual trial of the people vs. Father Moore, over the mysterious death of Emily Rose....But the trailers and TV spots would lead you to believe that it's about the exorcism.

I found the flashbacks of the exorcism and the events leading up to it to be even more chilling than the original exorcist movie, even if those moments were brief.

From the thread hyping this up, I'm assuming most of you are expecting to see a scary movie that would rival all of the exorcist movies, but that's not the case. Instead, it's about the real vs. the supernatural, and how an agnostic lawyer uses the quintessential beliefs of relgion inside the courtroom.

I thought this movie didn't come out till Sept. 9?

This is definatly going to be the must see movie of the year! based on a true story scary as shit!!!! I must see it.... hopefully its not a let down like other movies!!!!

^ lol, thats what i was thinking. i after actually reading the "true" story behind this, i had a feeling it would dip more into the trial then the exorcism. so don't be prepared for a scare you shitless from front to back type of movie.

+ based on a true story basically means they'll use a factual name and a factual topic, and from there its all hollywood, don't take the "based on a true story" line to seriously.

Yeah, I always question how loosely based these stories really are.....Especially after It's all gone Pete Tong director Michael Dowse calimed that he made up the whole movie after having the "based on a true story" appear at the beginning of the film.

True true... another one that's out right now 'based on a true story' is Brothers Grimm... it's actually a fairy tale about the bros (the director even changed their birth order....) and how they came to be famous. Looks interesting though, Monica Belucci is in it, she's one of my favourite actresses

the funny thing is that her name wasn't even emile rose. it was analiese michel.
