What are your favorite bands?

For me its My Chemical Romance. My little 13 year old brother got me into them.

on a side note does anyone notice a resemblance between frost and the lead singer of that band ?

I can't stand Mcr, I saw them a few times with a few punk bands when they first started, they were amazing and cool guys when I got to chill with them. I have their first cd which is awesome and they totally changed, and im sure its cuz of their record label, same with "A Static Lullaby" THey totally went poser now.

My current favorite now is
From Autumn to ashes
From Ashes RIse
Every New day
The Unseen
THe Virus
Placebo
bigwig
The Casualties
Marilyn Manson
Darkest Hour
In Flames
Thought Riot
ahh im done.
I can't stand Emo bands either

Frost just needs to pretend he is a bat and grow his hair out then he will be Gerald lol

My little cousin loves My Chemical Romance too- i actually listened to a lot of the songs, i kinda liked it!

I kinda like the Black-Eyed Peas too- Fergie has a cool Christina Aguilera vs. Pink kinda voice... damn she's hot too but seriously, their music always has a really cool messages and is well-produced..

i need to get into more non-electronic music. minimal german techno is ruling my life right now.

exactly my point bird brain shit boy...you know it but it's not your cup of tea, which is unlike the majority of people here who think all theyre known for is I Wanna Hold Your Hand...and why DONT they listen to chopin or starvinsky...take the time out to explore ffs...ive listened to Mozart and Tchaikovsky and i respect and enjoy their music, but theyre nowhere near my favs...at the very least i can tell you this confidently...

everyone should drop their bullshit Gorillaz or Coldplay or Black Eyed Peas and listen to Abbey Road once, just once...thats all...its not so hard...

I've listened to quite a lot of Beatles in my day (my dad is a hippie). Not really my style. There are quite a few good songs that I really dig, but overall, I don't really like old rock too much. I used to be a Doors fiend though...

Posted by phuzzyfish12 on Aug-31-2005 18:38:

BEATLES
Phish
Grateful Dead
DMB

That is all

i'm very familiar with the beatles' work, but have generally found them overrated (sacrilege, yes i know). if we're talking about '60s bands, there are bands I enjoy a lot more: simon/garfunkel, gordon lightfoot, mamas/papas and harry chapin on the folksey side; doors, stones, jimi, and janis joplin on the rock side.

---
edit: i saw DM during the Exciter tour @ jones beach and they were great. will def. see them again.

I am not tryin to rip.....but the Beatles aren't overrated. I think that sometimes people just listen to the surface of a Beatles song instead of digging deep and listening to the use of the guitars, drums, voices, the things they changed in the music world, they opened up an entire generation to Rock music, pushed to try something new and different. They weren't afraid of what people said about them and as a result they made even the simplest song complex, original and unique. No bands or DJ's for that matter can say they have done that, okay maybe a few but as a whole most people are followers and the Beatles were leaders.

Just my 2 cents

Posted by Highmay on Aug-31-2005 19:03:

this is what i like to see...i can totally understand where you guys are coming from...yeah, they could be overrated: when the world over idolizes them as gods, you cant help but sit back and go "ok wait, there ARE other bands out there"...

from the 60's i love simon and garfunkel, mammas and the pappas, the stones, jimi, and dylan...
