Hmm, just thought about something - will TiC New Orleans go on?
I seriously doubt it. Man, feel bad for everything that's going on in NO, Mississippi, and Alabama. Wish there was something I could do.
or maybe the state will push for it, get some tourism, boost morale, boost the economy?
Well, the place is probably still going to be inhabitable then. They have to completely rebuild the ENTIRE electrical grid...that means they have to start rewiring all electricity from scratch. At least that's what I heard on CNN.
I seriously doubt the area will be in any shape within 60 days...and I don't see people's focus money being spent on going to it when people in that whole area are out of work, no power, no food, etc...it's going to take quite some time to recover.

Yes, this was a serious disaster. I don�t think it will go on either.
I have a friend who live in New Orleans, his house is ok, for the most part. I'll ask him if he can host TiC. I'm sure he wouln't mind too much. He owes me a favor anyways.
Doubtful that it will go on. Maybe they will reschedule it. I was in Miami Beach during Hurricane Andrew, and it took some time for things to get back to normal. This looks worse.
Yeah, I was juts thinking the same thing 2 seconds ago. If they can get the clean up in time (which it look really bad) it would be a grreat moral booster. It just looks really bad out there and as MSNBC said it is worse than they can actually show.

It is really sad what is going on there. 80% of the city is gone and some parts are under 20 feet of water. People Traped in their own houses and many have no place to go

It really does suck that alot of people will have to start over with nothing and go through hell.
Yes agreed. And a lot of people will probably end up getting screwed by their insurance companies too. That crap always happens, they always find a way to screw people after major disasters.
Somehow I think TIC is the last thing on the minds of New Orleans residents and their friends.
I wish the very best for all affected by Katrina both directly and indirectly. My heart is with you all and I hope the relief funds can provide assistance for a speedy recovery.
hung out with a guy last night who is from N.O.
he hasn't been able to get a hold of his parents for 48hrs and is freaking out. He said the reason there isn't that much footage on the floods is because N.O is known for having above ground graves.
So, everything is washed out and dead bodies are floating around all over the place.
i keep trying to call my friend from New Orleans, but nothing but busy signal.....which is expected.
Perspective
It kind of put things in perspective doesn't it. I was angry because I paid all that money and only got 4 hours of TIC in LA. Yet, I got to go to a good show.
Yes, these people are losing a TIC...total. But, that's probably the furthest from their mind when they have no home, no food, lost relatives and friends. When will New Orleans be the same with?
Hopefully, for what its worth, maybe Tiesto will give a show with the proceeds going to a relief fund.

VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE HOPES TO MOVE FORWARD
Organizers for the VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE, originally set to take place in New Orleans� City Park, are hard at work on a relocation plan for the 2005 event. Developments currently in progress are a new festival site and city, as well as a shift in ambition, as Voodoo aspires to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The goal of this year�s event, still set for Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, will be to raise funds (details TBA) for supporting those in need and to aid in the rebuilding and preservation of the culture and heritage of New Orleans, which has served as home to Voodoo for the past six years.
�We want to be a part of the rebuilding process of New Orleans and we are dedicated to preserving the unique musical identity of our great city,� says Stephen Rehage, founder and independent producer of the annual VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE. �I am in awe of the generosity and kindness of so many people and cities who are reaching out to provide us a home for this year�s festival, the artists who are offering to perform and our fans and sponsors who are providing their continued support and patience during this difficult time. We look forward to harnessing this energy into something truly great for this community that so many of us, our friends and family call home.�
Details will be released as soon as the information is confirmed. Original tickets will be honored, however, refunds are available by phone or at any Ticketmaster location. As for next year�s event, the goal is to return to Voodoo�s hometown of New Orleans. Stay tuned for additional updates and information regarding the 2005 VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE.

yeah, i checked a few days ago and the voodoo music festival site said the show would go on, but i seriously doubt it.
