Posted by Jukx on Dec-17-2001 13:52:

I'd say he simply plays/produces hard/energetic trance.
No way he plays techno.
Tech-trance? wtf is that??? That genre doesn't even excist!

Talking

tech-trance does exist dude.......marco v plays hard trance with a technoy feel to it........but IT AIN'T TECHNO.

Posted by Cream21 on Dec-17-2001 15:28:

Marco V self said in an interview when he was asked what kind of music he make / spins that there is no known genre for it! It's from everything a bit!!!! So when he self even can't decribe his style I think no one here can do it!

tech-trance does NOT exist dude... some people just made it up, the term "tech-trance". Just read some mag's about electronic music. I've never read they where mentioning something like tech-trance.

why has it a technoy feel to it? just because it has a hard beat? a hard beat doesn't make a track technoy dude. I think you would describe katana - fancy fair as tech-trance. what is the techno part in it?!?!? to me it's just some simple (harder) trance.
A hard beat doesn't directly mean it is technoy.
Ok, let's look at it from the other side: maybe a techno track with a obvious melody is tech-trance?
No. there is a lot of melodic techno out there, for example Technasia, but I never heard someone calling it "tech-trance".
tech-house is a generally accepted term, but "tech-trance" !?!?!!?

Why shouldn`t it be called Tech-Trance? I mean every style started existing when someone made something different to what was on the market at that time. If you told some Detroit addict back in the 80s something about trance he would also have replied that trance doesn`t exist. Same thing with Drum and Bass, Trip Hop, UK Garage or whatever. Styles exist because someone started a style not because somone writes them down in an book.

Techno/Trance whatever is evolving, not static.

Tech-Trance does exist mate, i have a CD off a Ministry mag from a while back called tech-trance and it has a few oliver lieb trakcs on. Tech-trance isnt actually a fusion of trance and techno as such (bit like hard-house not really being house music wiv a hard beat and more like a slowed down hardcore). Tech-Trance is like progressive trance but still wiv the more trancy sounds like high pitched beeps and pops and stuff. Okay that was a crap description, try downloading
Ecano - Run (Z2 Mix)
or
Marco Cord - Slow Power
and u'll see what i mean

Peace

tech-trance definitely exists

Posted by da_MynDLesS_one on Dec-18-2001 17:49:

Tech-trance doesn't have to be an established genre for it to exist.

Examples: Tiesto - Flight 643, Katana - Fancy Fair, most of Signum's new stuff, Praetorian - Released, Rank 1 - Such Is Life (Deep Dub)... etc...

IMHO, anyway
