Gas Price Insanity

Gas is $3.09 a gallon in some places, and it's being said that it might go all the way up to 3.75 pretty soon.

What's to stop from going up to $4 or more?

it shouldnt increase more than 30 some cents. our supply has been stopped from the gulf of mexico, but nonetheless, we do have enough supply to meet the demand. the increase in prices is due to having to get that supply from other sources than the domestically and convienant gulf oil rigs.

Yesterday I drove by two gas stations...by one high octane gas was $3.02, the one right next to it, also high octane, $2.67...who the fuck would gas up at the higher place...there were still ppl there!

This morning it was 2.69, this afternoon it was 3.79

you realize that way over half of the USA's oil production came from New Orleans right

you being in the southeast, your directly effected by the halted production, and so you have higher prices. us in south florida have miami and tampa ports to bring in our fuel, so ours have risen, but not like yours. i just listen to the talk radio and their reports on the fuel production. we have the supply to meet the demand. we just have to get it from other places other than the gulf.

For some people, price is not an issue when it comes to filling up their gas tank. some people just don't see the necessity of going out of their way to find a station that is a couple cents cheaper.

but then again, thats a huge difference between 2.67 and 3.02. maybe it was just more convenient to the people driving. Were both stations on the same side of the road or was one across the street?

Last week I filled up at $2.79 a gallon & I thought that was alot. Today I filled up at $3.59 a gallon, WTF is this shit. It cost me almost $60 to fill up.

I've been saying (not on TA) that we would definitely see prices around the nation peaking at or around $5/gallon before Christmas. I didn't think it would be so soon...

mind you, there will be price gauging by some greedy station owners. any price that far above the national average or local average is probably a price gauge.

i wonder if there'll be more penalties against store owners again.
