Hi Guys, thought it might be a nice idea to put up a pic and bio for all Australian Local DJ's here on the AUTA. like the member post once thread. Let me know if you think it would be a good idea or it can be easily removed....

Like a DJ - Menu, i know the room website has one and its really effective when promotors have a good choice of the talent around.

Dont want it to be treated as a "DL my mix thread" just a simple databank of ppl avaliable and what they play and who they run with.

Simple and neat and easy. Although it would be a bit much to ask on these forums i would imagine.

i think its a great idea - how would it werk - would it be like one of those sticky - perm locked threads...where every dj getsone post and has a password to edit there own lil bio - or a mod (omgz we are starting to need one) that can update it -

cos like u could have a bio post with ur photo, current mix/traxx, playing next here, radio show info sorta shit etc on it

--its pretty similar to the promo thread tho

well once you vote for a mod in the mod poll we might atually be able to do that

as for dj profiles, i reckon you guys should do something like this for each dj...

Maybe use some of tachyon's shopping skillz.

Wicked, glad to here such a good response, Templates are a good idea, who can make one up? and can it be implemented into the site, like input fields maybe? And yes. MOD IS A MUST!!

i'm happy to help with the template if need be (can't code or anything however). I can see an image based thing like the example working ok, except it could be rather time consuming if people are unable to create their own 'image' from a template if they do not have the relevant software. Not sure how a field based thing would work in this environment either.

Perhaps each DJ has a 'header image' which is based on a template that they can then host somewhere for inclusion in the thread. Underneath it could be just text based with a variety of 'topics' explaining a bit about the person, where they play/have played, what the drink yada yada yada?

Maybe we could have a mod to run the import from an email format.. who posts the bio//pic DJ specifics from emails sent through to them?

Or is there a way to make an input screen in the thread? for TA's to have a 1 entry only restriction, but no edit time restrictions on thier single post?

Maybe a template can be made, and people at home fill it in and post it up as a screenshot? All screenshots could be hosted on a photobucket account? looked after by the mod in charge of the thread.

I dunno guys, who runs the site? who can forward these suggestions on. who will listen?

I would love this thing to work, if its possible.
