Looting and shoting in New Orleans!!!

It is a shame that people would react in such a way!!

Posted by Greedy on Sep-01-2005 14:57:

desperate times i guess. New Orleans isnt the safest place to begin with.

Posted by LuNaSeA on Sep-01-2005 16:30:

when you're poorer than fuck and everything you have/own is completely destroyed and gone, you have nothing to live for and the chaos just consumes you...

Very true....

You would think that people would help each other in times like these.

Barnes & Noble which is the company I work at has Stores in NO. All of them were affected. We are currently providing the victims assistance with financial situations and housing.

Posted by sot on Sep-01-2005 16:51:

i agree, they got nothing left and no insurance so going to jail would be a luxury to some of these people.

Posted by InterMilan31 on Sep-01-2005 16:52:

Im not belittling the situation but this is like something out of a movie or a banned video game.

The scenes are horrible Im gonna donate more money to relief in the next couple of days I encourage you all to do the same. Hopefully the TA's down there are all safe

Posted by dartrance on Sep-01-2005 18:48:

no kidding.

mdamon shut the fuck up already about tiesto.

any type of big event in NO is pretty much done.

its going to take years for them to rebuild.

people are dying left and right and you make a joke like this?

Posted by mdamon7278 on Sep-01-2005 18:50:

I never said anything about Tiesto, and putting a lil humor into it, heaven forbid peeps can take jokes once and a while and possible I might get deployed up there to help with the relief, then I see first hand what peeps are going through, I went through Hurricane Andrew and that was no fuckin joke

Posted by Groundhog Boy on Sep-01-2005 18:57:

CNN reported that a hospital down there just halted evacuations when the evacuating people came under sniper fire. So much for calling ourselves a civilized country. I mean, looting is one thing, but this is getting a bit out of hand.

Errrrm have you ecer been to New Orleans? It's a poverty stricken area. Many of those people had next to nothing to begin with. Now what they did have is gone too. How do you expect them to react?

agreed, poverty not only in new orleans, but most of the "dirtiest of the dirty" south too. went to the grocery store on my way home from work and half the people in line were "refugees" buying toiletries who came up here (north mississippi) to escape the storm. so sad , and there is no cellphone coverage here. anyway, watching anderson cooper and i havent seen him this emotional before.
