Yeah, I was told that too, but it's done. Just got home 20 minutes ago after closing out and a McDonald's breakfast. Lots of rumors floating around tonight. Some kid told me that Sasha cancelled his 2 gigs this weekend and was going to show up. And I could swear at one point I saw him behind Diggers, but it was just wishful thinking. Sorry for getting your hopes up Brian. Send me that pic when you get a chance. If I remember, it's one of the few good pics taken of me lately, but i may have just been fucked up.

Great set tonight. Wished he would have played until 10.

Ohhh myy god.....

Last night a king was reborn.... He reclaimed his seat in the house formaly known as Twilo. He took us wayyyy back. Rolling base lines, lonng long longggg build ups and amazing programming. I would of never expected this from John. I thought his new style was electro ? Well I guess I thought wrong...

oh and to reiterate my review is summed up in three words

Oh My God

Posted by Zack Roth on Sep-03-2005 16:13:

yeah, I was definitely going into the night expectign to hear a lot of that electro I know he has been playing lately, and to be honest wasn't looking forward to it. But while I was there he was killing it with a lot of bass heavy progressive house. It was my first time hearing him live and he blew me away.

Oh, and I have definitely never seen Spirit that packed....but like always, there was no line outside, security was moving everyone in quick which is never the case at Crobar.

I'm also a fan of the room they added on the second floor....its always fun to change it up and be able to hear some hip hop during the night.

i have NEVER heard a set like that from digweed before-- OH MY GOD is right!!!!!!!!! hands down best set i ever heard from that mufuh...

talked to friendly strangers, felt good vibes all night long, most people were very courteous..i kept saying how THIS is what was Twilo felt like.....everyone i talked to agreed with me..

IT WAS SO FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!

My first Digweed party -- I hadnt even planned on going to this since I was waiting to party later in the month, but Jenn and Liz convinced me to go at the last minute. I have to admit i didnt know what to expect since his latest album did sound kinda experimental.

BUT I have to say, he was absolutely UNREAL, he lit Spirit on FIREE. I've heard from people that Digweed's live performances are INCREDIBLE, and yeah the sets ive *listened* to were good, but last night i was just PWNED. Definitely some very siick tunes with hard basslines, kept me stomping. i had initially planned to leave a lil early, like around 4, and kept waiting for a lull in the music...but NONE came. I ever SO reluctantly left about two n a half hours later or so (iono man), legs hurting but thoroughly happy.

vern: mindy, megu and i were looking for you!! damns ppl were just all over the place at this one **shruggs** didnt see groundhog boy n gf

ran into jonathon, manda, and the rest of the DC krew. always a pleasure seeing u.

What is the sound of perfection? John Digweed.
From the opening track up until the time I left,
Diggers was relentless, taking no prisoners. Driving
basslines, layered sounds, stabbing synths, vauge
distorted voices and long build-ups every other song
was the story. I saw John my first time at Twilo
exactly 5yrs ago, and have seen him consistantly
through the years. To say this set takes the cake
is an understatement, more so, He restored order
on West 27th last night.

Just a few...
Holden - The Wheel
Donna Summer - I feel love
Der Dritte Baum - Hale bopp
Cafe del Mar?

mental night...

it had been over 8 years since i aimlessly walked up to 530 W 27th to hear these guys Sasha and Digweed at Twilo for the first time...from a rise to greatness from virtual anonimity in NYC to the cities decline to a shithole for money grubbing promoters and djs...John Digweed, Made, and Spirit brought all the right elements together on Friday night and what was exhibited was total class and music was played that heads like to hear...layered and textured sounds...rumbling basslines...twisted short wicked vocals...and a set built the way its supposed to be built sloooooooooooooowly...and mixing tracks the way tracks should be mixed...he was in a fucking zone...i looked the man in the eye at least a dozen times and he was in another world...

Jondi and Spesh: We Are Connected was dope for a closer (pre-encore)...WE ARE CONNECTED...WE ARE CONNECTED...WE ARE CONNECTED...

a lot of special things happened the other night...kids who never got to witness him at Twilo finally did...the faces and names might be different...the music might be different, along with the dj booth, substances, and soundsystem...but its all the same when digweed takes control in that building...i hope this was a new beginning...

old skoolers got to come home...for real...it was fun to be back...i took so many mental snap shots of the evening...photography cant even come close to getting the images i implant in my head when im conducting piano riff in the air to a thousand people at 7am while my favorite dj in my favorite club is spinning one of my favorite tracks...or heiling a disco ball...or trying to ram my head through a speaker to get closer to the music...

unparalelled professionalism and performance...and props to Sean Cusick too for a sweet warm up set...the energy in the air was fucking electric...buzzing...if you missed it...oh well...once in a lifetime...

Right the fuck on Jay. I kept saying to myself "so this is what it was like." Walking around Friday night....I couldn't tell you how many people were talking about Twilo and Sasha and Digweed. I had a conversation in the bathroom with two dudes about how it was all coming back. Thank you so much Made for making this happen. I would also like to point out that the decore that night was the best ive ever seen it.
