not everyone has the same tastes as you though, infact some of us think sasha & digweed are the most boring ever and an Oakey one, esp covering the glory days of his cream residency would be superb.

"What's the worst venue you've ever played at? Also, has anything ever gone badly wrong?"

I just about shit my pants laughing at that question.

Oh, and I'll second Ian's idea.

Oakie is the epitome of a sucessful DJ. Not everyone would admit it, but every DJ wishes they were him. Amazing sucess he's had!

What do you think of DJs using laptops to mix?

From a technology point of view it's easier and you've got access to a lot more music than you can ever imagine taking with you.
From the clubbers' point of view, I wouldn't like it.
I don't think that's the way forward. But I understand from the other side why DJs use it.
A couple of DJing friends of mine do it because they get access to all this music.
Personally, I don't like it because it looks bad and you lose the art as everything's matched up and sorted out for you.
I use vinyl and CD. There's something about playing live, the movement you get with your hands. But each to their own.

this was a great reply.

have to agree here, while I don't support the path his musical career has gone in, when he's thinking straight & not on the drugs, he's a great interviewee

Bahahahaha!

The only reason Oakey slates the use of FS, SSL, Ableton etc is becuase he wouldnt have the first clue how to use them. He can barely operate turntables even when he tries his hardest & it was only about 6 months ago he was slating CDJ's because they 'mix for you' The guy is a muppet.

respect for all his past achievements and all, but his set at Amnesia 2 weeks ago was just pathetic.
