Thumbs down Rice might retire

As you all should know. Jerry Rice might retire. The greatest wide reciever is thinking he should retire. He might be old but he still is average to the rest of the players in the NFL right now. He shouldn't retire because he doesn't suck he just is not as good as he first started out.

i dunno just let him do what he wants, I usually think players should retire if their body is giving away, like when Steve Young and Troy Aikman would almost die every week for example...not the case with Jerry,I see him retiring after this year.

That's the greatest wide of all time to you. And yes, he should have thought of and should have retired 4-5 years ago instead of putting on an Oakland Raiders jersey

We didn't want to see him average. Many of us NFL fans would have rather wanted him to walk into the sunset of retirement when he started to slip from the top of his game and definitely as a 49er.

That's precisely the reason why he should retire. He's a shell of his former self. He stayed in the NFL for so long that I can't remember how damn good he once was unless I play Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES or look at the old NFL Films show when they show up on ESPN Classic.

as much as i would like to see rice retire, he still has some skills. he can still catch those slant routes inbetween two defenders, and can outrun some of those old secondaries out there. he is a good 3rd option receiver for many teams. it's unfortunate that he landed in denver, because denver has loads of talent over there, leading off with smith and lelie.

wouldn't be surprised if washington or pittsburgh tries to make a push for him.

Rice has retired

that means there is only 1 active player left from Tecmo Super Bowl

Sean Landeta

edit: I was informed that the Eagles cut him...maybe there will be no more active players from Tecmo Super Bowl

Deion Sanders is still with the Ravens, he was in TSB.

ahhh... all of us still live in the past with tecmo super bowl .. .. i do also .. .. but think about it .. 100% of the guys in tecmo super bowl is over 40 ..

however, wasnt morten andersen in tecmo super bowl also ? i think he's still playing ..

Glad Rice finally retired...i just wish he hadn't tarnished his legacy by jumping from team to team trying to hold on. Hmm looking at my old copy of tecmo bowl....wow Neal Anderson and Brad Muster for the bears and Iron head heyward with vaughan dunbar for the saints..

Yep, both Morten Andersen and Gary Anderson are still playing. Kickers have long careers in the NFL.

Also, Vinny Testaverde was in TSB, and he is currently a backup QB in Dallas.

The Bears were unstoppable in the original Tecmo Bowl.

Lawrence Taylor was a beast in STB
