new mod poll - part 2

Following from the nomination thread and the new mod poll thread the question is this...

It's up to Swamper, not us, and I doubt he'd create two new mods for what is really a pretty small forum. Besides, we've got by without even one mod for the past few months, do we really need two?

I voted the guest list action vote. Even though you got the motto wrong. It's this:

Well if there are valid reasons for having two, we can present them to him.

reasons for
- Representation from different areas within AU (each mod is from a different state)
- There is less reliance (and pressure) on one person to maintain law and order
- Two mods can back each other up, throw ideas at each other, work as a team
- If one mod is away for extended period, the other is around to take care of things

I'm not saying that there aren't any good reasons to have two mods, I'm just saying that Swamper isn't likely to go for it. Only three other local forums have two mods and each of them are much larger than the Australian forum (Toronto, Holland, UK / Ireland) and in each case the second mod was already a moderator on the main forums before becoming a mod on these local ones (Swamper, Blik, Tu_Face). I don't think that Swamper would create two new mods for the Australian forum (and they'd have to be new because there aren't any Australian mods anywhere else on the forum) when he hasn't done that anywhere else.

Like I said, it might well be a better idea to have two mods, but I just don't think it's likely to happen...

I think I ate tomany lollies today two mods is a good idea, one female and one male.

Still though we survived the french invasion with out a mod .. so i think its safe to say that we could handle most things without one

(as long a soups behaves)

yeah 2 mods is asking alot. kinda like someone was asking us to have our own dedicated aussie self promotion forum as a sub forum to the local au one. lol not to jump off the bandwagon here but..

..what we need to realise is that the aussie forums are a priviledge not a right and we're starting to push it a bit =)

i've administered forums before and the more help you get the less work you need to do yourself as forum admin.
