[REVIEW] Coldplay @ PNC Arts Center NJ 9.3.05
well i went to see Coldplay on saturday and all i can is WOW!!!
I was completely blown away by how incredible the show was! they totally exceeded my expectations and i can really see why they are the biggest band in the world.
i got there at like 6:30 and walked around for a while before the show started. got a really pricey shit and the most expensive food i ever bought and then headed to my seat.... this band called Rilo Kiley opened for them from 7:45 til about 8:30. Honestly, they weren't that good so it was kind of a drag listening to them.
Coldplay came on at 9:15 and totally owned me until the very last note of their last song. They came out and all you saw on the big screen behind them was a countdown to something as you can see in the pics. They started with Square One, then Yellow, then God Put a Smile on your Face. There are a couple tracks that i did not recognize but its ok. At one point Chris Martin got on mic before a song and was like "alright now this song is serious, so all you people on the lawn put down your weed and your bongs and lets be serious about this one for a minute" or something like that. I found that pretty funny and i was def. not expecting it. He also dedicated a track to New Orleans and for all the people down there which i thought was nice.
The moment of the night for me was when they played White Shadows (which i have all on video BTW, i just have to upload it). It was such an amazing moment for me since its one of my favorite tracks and it was just magical for me!! Pretty much throughout the whole show i was singing along to every track (the ones i knew anyway
)Speed of Sound was also really good. They also played Fix You, The Scientist and some other ones i can't remember right now.
They ended at about 10:40 and i thought, wait... this can't be over already, they only played for an hour. so i waited for a couple minutes as the whole crowd was on its feet, and then left my seat and just waited til either they came back on or til everybody left to make a move. but as soon as i stepped out of the seating area and onto the walkway thing, like 8 security guards told me to leave and they were pushing and chasing me for about 100 feet or so. And as i was stopping some guy just throws up all over my back and shit, i thought it was beer at first but soon realized otherwise
I was like whatever its not that bad. A couple seconds later, Coldplay came back on and the crowd went nutz!! They played three encores and the only one i can remember is their second one being What If, which is one of my favorite tracks of the album and it was really really well played. For their first encore, Chris Martin ran off stage and into the crowd, rite by where i was sitting before (i should have stayed there i guess) and was singing the track along with the whole crowd and i just found that really cool of him to do
They got done at around 11:10 or so and i just wish they had played longer. but it was an amazing performance and i recommend everybody to go see them!
(sorry if some of these pics are blurry, its hard to take close up pics from far away)

I saw their show in Connecticut. Pretty cool show. My favorite part was the video on the screen for The Scientist. It started in outer space and just moved through down to earth and just kept going till it was down to molecules and atoms and what not. Pretty cool...

I had just gotten home from my brother's wedding rehearsal and while I was standing outside my house I heard them playing. Sounded phat and I went online to look to see who was at the Arts Center, and saw that it was Coldplay. I got a magazine from inside, turned on my porch light, and read my magazine while listening to them in the background. Sounded like a good show.
