So long, and thanks for all the fish

Hi all

I've gone back to Denmark now (and finally has internet working again), after a trip which, despite the obligatory delays and harassments at security check-points, could be described as "pleasant". The airline even forgot to misplace my baggage.
Anyway, seeing that the far majority of the threads in this sub-forum are very much focused on local events, I guess that my participation in here will decline rapidly, eventually ending with a full out retreat back to the PDD-forum. So before that happens, I want to leave a formal goodbye to the NYTAs: In general you have been a fun and lively bunch to party with. As a community, I've found you to be very open - so you can pad yourselves on the back for that.
Some of you have been far more friendly to me than my TA-membership alone would mandate. You have been a significant factor in rendering my stay in NYC so wonderful as it has been, and I will remember you fondly to the day I die/go senile. I wish you all the best in your lives.

Ok, time to read all those posts (two weeks worth of them)...

Glad to see you made it back okay. Waswas fun partying with you Soren. Was really cool of you to meet up with me at the train station for the Loft Party. Definitely would not have made it there on my own! I won't forget that you did that for me. Well, good look to you and I hope one day you can come back for a show so we can hang out again sometime! Take care.

hey soren!!!

good to hear from you again. how's it feel to be back home?

we had a very interesting first meeting @ sullivan, didn't we? i didn't even know you were part of TA, i just thought you were a stalker

it was always a pleasure reading your posts- i dont think you know how witty and subsequently hilarious you are. and of course, it's been fun arguing with you which, coincidentally, you are also very good at!!

be sure to visit once in a while and say hi!

what are your plans back home now? how long do you have to complete your studies?

xx

It feels ok, but terrible. Right now I'm spending a lot of time catching up with friends and family, which is nice. The problem is that Denmark is pretty much the best place in the world for those seeking coziness, security, and stability, whereas NYC is great for fun, excitement, and variety, and unfortunately for me, I'm valuing the latter qualities over the former ones. I'm geographically challenged.
Since most of the people around me have the opposite priorities they are unable to understand why I'm not absolutely thrilled to be back, which is not really helping me. At least people are able to understand when you've been dumped or someone in your family has died, but few are able to empathize with the geographically challenged.
Anyway, I have at least one year and probably two years left of my studies. When/if I get my diploma - who knows? I could definitely dig living in London or Munich for a while.

I'm beginning to believe it - you've told me more than once.
