The Caliber of this forum

Am I the only one impressed with the Caliber of the participants of this forum? And all of TA for that matter.

This forum in particular has a collection of what I would deem the elite of thought.

To single one person out as an example, I can't imagine too many people exist that can argue Atheism as well as Arbiter. But its like that for every perspective.

Everyone knows their shit, and everyone knows how to present it.

To put it simply, this forum has many liberal and forward-thinking people who are generally more intelligent and enlightened than your typical religious redneck.

Even though I usually take a more liberal, center-right viewpoint on most issues presented here, I believe it's unfair for the most part to castigate this forum's conservatives as "typical religious rednecks."

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I often find myself overwhelmed by the posts in this section of the forums. It's hard to formulate a rebuttal against many of the arguments posted here, simply because they require too much thought/research for my liking
Nonetheless, it is good to see that there are people out there who do take the time to think about their posts and do a little bit of research to appease the minds of fellow forum members...

What I would like to see though are some conservatives who can articulate their arguments as well as the liberal majority. I mean, there are many threads that just seem to go unabaited without any controversy or argument from some conservative thought that is both logical and coherent. No, I'm not a conservative myself (far from) but I do like to see some constructive conflict.

So yeah, keep it up boys and girls... I will continue to visit the PD/D on a daily basis, as I have for many years now (even before I signed up). Even though you might not see me often post lengthy replies like those of the hardcore regulars, this forum never ceases to entertain

But yeah, there's some people over here who are in a completely different level of argumentation, inteligence and knowledge of the english language. That's why i avoid posting in PDD, everyone's too smart so i look dumb (am dumb?)

Its amazing that when I want to discuss politics and other issues I come to a site based on trance music. Simply put, the best debates are here. I go on political-crossfire.com too, but there the quality of this forum truly shines. Here, people site sources, something that is hardly ever done at political crossfire, a site dedicated to politics and intellectual debates! The only reason I don't post very often here is because I respect that if I am going to state my opinion, I had better make sure it is based on facts. Keep up the good posting.

Edit:
I don't understand why only liberals can be smart. Why can't a conservative be smart too? I have heard this time and time again, especially at my school.

About time for a PDD appreciation thread again!

Anyway this place is the best. Keep up the good work everyone

Every online community I've ever been apart of have said that about themselves at somepoint. I would say that of those communities, this is one of the more intelligent ones - but I mostly see it as a few intellectuals sticking out of the crowd. I could speculate that part of that might be due to the vast ethnic variety found here, combined with the fact that this is a website devoted to a style of music that requires a certain level of open-mindedness. However, I'd say that most of the people here seem pretty average and normal.

Don't put yourself down.

I've seen comments by people that make me wonder about their intelligence.

You can do better than them.

yeah, there are a handful on here that stand out for me. its a great environment within which to learn (you tend to lose a bit of motivation and interest after graduation ) but politics on TA has helped turn that around a bit

Yes, Amazing threads and forum. I remember one of the religious threads where opus and occ basically killed all competition.

Donnie Brasco knows his shit...and every one of you dopey Liberals knows to how to eat said shit when he's presenting it.

It's our ability to mutually respect each other's differences.
While we do get into some heated discussion that's just par for the course in here.
I do appeciate the philosophical and science posts once in a while too; it nicely breaks the polital dogma...

Go PDD woot!

I seriously don't know how some people do that!
I usually know the song to hear it but to recite song/mix/artist just amazes me sometimes...
