buuuump - going to this one

Posted by sstranger1 on Sep-08-2005 00:43:

I might go this. I just downloaded several of Airwave's set from his Tranceplant radio show. Gonna listen to them at work.

Posted by fury on Sep-12-2005 04:30:

Okay, Airwave was freakin awesome, but why the hell was that hippie shit in the main room? I got there around 1 since that's when the flyers said he would come on, but he didn't end up coming on til close to 2 because the damn tree huggers would not stop playing. Horrible scheduling--totally killed the vibe.

Posted by Trancelover24 on Sep-12-2005 04:46:

Behold, my arse.

YOu mean Dyloot ??? Well lets start by saying that even tho alot of people do hate Dyloot/Tom Slik aka the tree huggers, they are the ones who brough you Airwave and Mike Shiver...

Posted by fury on Sep-12-2005 05:29:

Um no, if you were there you would've seen some live band playing until 2.

Ten15 accidentally double booked the night. First was the official afterparty for the "Power to the Peaceful" festival that was in Goldengate park during the day. This was from 9am-1:30am (I guess a little longer)...

After that, the Skills night began with Airwave. Oddly, I heard Airwave wasn't go great with his constant wrecking at every transition. But I have heard from multiple peeps that Shiver was awesome and stole the show.

Dyloot played after Airwave and Mike Shiver...

As you can see, I didn't go....mainly because I learned of the double booking Friday night and didn't plan on getting there until nearly 1:30am because of it...but I just felt a bit too tired considering I have to go to Tokyo for a hell week of work on Tuesday for the Tokyo Game Show....need to be sure to save all the energy I can for it so I can recover faster after I return on the 19th in time for Love Parade.

Would love to see Airwave spin at Spundae LA too! I like their radio show Tranceplant a lot!

How the hell can you constantly wreck running a hybrid set in ableton live where every single beat gets lined??? you gotta tell me. Stop talking shit and come to my shows next time you want to bash me.

I clearly said I HEARD, dude, and that I wasn't there. Again, I heard. I heard does not always equal the truth. And I also said "oddly" ... as in disbelief, because I was overly surprised to hear that about your set.

And Ableton isn't perfect...it is possible to wreck on it, unless a lot of cheating is going on. mmmmhmmmmmm!!!

Anyhow, people seem to be very bitter of the night...because of Ten15's screw up with the double booking. Maybe some people are being over critical of the night because of it. I even told the Skills peeps that I felt terrible for you since you had to go on right after the hippie reggae stuff going on. I'm sure that part really sucked.

And if Ten15 didn't mess up and it would have been worthwhile to come to Ten15 before 1:30am, I would have been there...

Hopefully Skills or someone local brings you back soon enough. I'd love to hear ya in person.

Dave

Is LoLo the Airwave guy??? Dude, dont take anything from message board seriously. You should be way over that mentally. Oh, plus read more carefully, Dave's posts are always on target and truthful. Anyways, im out.

If you're still reading this thread Airwave, can you ID the tune you played before Who Are You?

Posted by R!CH on Sep-12-2005 20:42:

I paid the $20 to get in at 12:30, show up and it's some reggae band Spearhead was playing in the main room. I was like ughhhhhh, what day is it again? It was so crowded I had to push through just to get to the bottom of the stairs. I tried to go back to the cashier booth where I paid and ask the chic if Airwave and Mike Shiver are playing tonight but the stupid flashlight cop bouncer won't even let me through to ask that question--I asked if he knew and he said "No, I don't know that and she probably doesn't either. We're very busy up here go away". Great, so I wander around in Ten15 for almost an hour before I get bored and leave for a house party. I was so pissed I drove all the way from Hayward to see Airwave and Mike Shiver, paid the cover, and got rejected. It makes me even more mad to know that if I'd stayed another ten minutes, Airwave and Mike Shiver would have went on. Thanks a lot jackass bouncer at Ten15! I was looking forward to seeing both djs for the first time!!!!

Dude, I thought the same thing when I got there and almost left. I asked several different people who was playing in the main room tonight and no one knew. Finally someone told me there was a schedule at the booth so I looked at that and it showed Airwave at 1:30. Sucks to hear you missed out.

Whoa My bad!! Sorry about that..I am glad I didnt go!!!! Would have hated to see a raggae band when I was expecting banging TRANCE!

1015 fucked up!! Imagine if they do this for the LOVE PARADE AFTER PARTY!! you go there to see PVD and get Raggae

Posted by StanVoid on Sep-12-2005 23:07:

yea there was a serious tree hugging fest in there, and funny thing is some of them stayed for the trance afterwards. Funniest shit ever seeing the hippies do the peaceful dance to Lolo - Who Are You

Posted by Tinigrl007 on Sep-13-2005 02:22:

if this is airwave, sorry you had to follow the hippy fest...the club reeked of sweat, weed, and patchouli no one deserved to have to wait to go one after that...What ever you did to G&D's-Arcadia sounded awesome on that system and made the night worthwhile for my friend and I that hung out through the peace after-party.

oh? where was the 411 booth then? who do you suppose i ask if not the people i handed money to? the bartenders? security? maybe a hippie would know...

Posted by Lolo on Sep-13-2005 19:40:

Hey man, let's calm it down, then. I understand what you meant, but just keep in mind that every single person heard this or that, and is bashing me without any reason at this moment, especially promoters and european dj agents, simply trying to promote their own artists. They all just dump piles of shit on me without even coming to a gig I am playing at. This really makes me sick, not that I'm against positive critics or whatsoever, but how can people argue about something they haven't seen of heard themselves, this is something that I don't get at all. Forgive my reaction, it was tough, but understand my point!!

Take care
Laurent
