Songs That MUST Have Vocals Or Else They Don't Work!

HMmmmmm, the other day in chat I heard someone complaing that all songs should at least come w/ one dub mix. My argument was that there are just some tunes that dont work w/o their vocals.. In another words, the vocals are wut makes them so good. Hence y, not all songs should have dubs or instrumental mixes. Anyhow, this is how I thought of this topic and wish for all of you to expand it!

Here are some tunes that I think only works b/c of their vocals:

*Tenth Planet - Ghost
*Tukan - Light A Rainbow
*Jan Johnston - Silent Words
*Chakara - Love Shines Through
*Tekara - Breathe In You
*BT - Dreaming
*Iio - Rapture
*Rui Da Silva - Touch Me
*Sunscreem vs. Push - Please Save Me
*Delerium - Silence
*Hybrid - If I Survive

I'm sure there are plenty others but this is enough for now... So, wut songs do YOU think only work because of their vocals?

freefall - skydive (waaa!!)
marco v - godd
floyd - come together
sunscreem - exodus (and for that matter push v sunscreem - please save me)

none of these wold be as good without da singin bits ;p

I couldn't disagree more, I think the Wonder Mix without vocals is much better. However that's a question about taste.

I am sick to death of all the crappy vocal trance tunes polluting the scene at the moment... we are overrun with them! I'm tired of hearing tunes where I am sat there, merrily nodding my head and really getting into it only for it to be ruined when the out-of-place vocal comes in. The most recent examples I can think of are the mixes of "Something" by Lasgo. The fact is, pretty much any trance tune would work (and sound much better) without a cheesy vocal rolling over the top.

There are only a handful of trance tunes that are really complemented by a vocal, for example Space Brothers tunes (and those they do under their many pseudonyms). Anyway, I'm not gonna get into making a list of all the tunes I think are ruined by vocals because, quite frankly, I don't have all night!

the vocals make the tune! without them i dont think you would get the same emotional feelings

I think Kosheen - Catch (Ferry Corsten remix) could be one too. It is not so powerful without the vocals as it is with them.

hmmz there are some really shite vocals buzzin around atm like ur example (lasgo).. but maybe thas the DJ's fault for playing crap tunes vocals can either make or break a tune.. if done badly then its terrible.. if done well then its awesome

i edited it so there wernt so much vocals and it sounded mucho betteros

i also agree w/ whoever said that Kosheen - Catch needs vocals to survive

personally, i could do alot better w/o ayumi's vocal but that i wont argue... i know how strongly some ppl feel about her singing

hands down, most songs w/ Jan Johnston, Sarah McLachlan, Marcella Woods and few others vocalists.... would not be good if its not for them vocals imho
