Posted by Blakey on Sep-07-2005 17:37:

That'd be correct (the largest club in the UK).

Tall Tree's is in Yarm - On - Tees for anyone who's interested in going and not sure where it is.

It should be 4am finish as of November, with the new laws coming into play that month.

Im 90% interested in going to this, already asked about the club/hotel in another thread. Thinking of booking the hotel next door for a night

Edit: It's John O'Callaghan playing, not John Askew

It was an error on GoodGreef's behalf, not mine.

Do you not rate JO'C or something?

nothing wrong with JoC, granted i would have liked to have seen John Askew who i've never heard a set by, but i know JoC is gonna spin some energetic tunes and not some naff prog

Might see if I can convince my housemates to go to this. I know one of them will be up for it, but the other two will be a bit .

If JoC plays anything like he did at Passion I wouldnt bother sticking around the arena for him. His transitions were shocking, didn't seem to know the structure of any of the tracks and appeared to trainwreck quite a bit. Plus the music he plays is boring with no energy.

well to be fair he wasn't going to bang it out during that timeslot. and judging by his productions he's more of an upbeat trance guy normally.. case of being forced to play outside the style you know. i won't defend his set though since i didn't rate it that highly either.. but would give him a chance if he was on at a later time

Posted by scAza on Sep-08-2005 22:51:

its not that I dont rate J.O'C, ive heard good reviews from when he played here a few months ago, but these southern monkeys said he wasnt too good at passion other nite, AND the error in this case is the equivalent of goin

"sorry, its not paul van dyk, its erm, paul moelands" or somethin, if u get me, someone reeeaaally highly rated as a dj in his own right, to some newcomer whose getting big thru productions!

either way lets not read too much into my eh ....

I happen to enjoy going to see a shed load of other smaller DJ's other than PvD like Askew, van Doorn, Sheridan and most of the DJs who play at Zogg. All have great technical ability unlike Callaghan.

Btw I'm hardly a southerner either as I was born in Birkenhead, I just live down here.
