Ethereal - Inamorata [RealMusic]

Haven't posted anything since "The Story Of" and I'm a little unsure of how this sounds (I've been hearing it so much lately so I can't tell if it's good or not). So I came to the aide of my fellow TAs!

Please do me favor and comment on the melody (or anything else) of this track so I can make the necessary amends and finish this piece.

EDIT: finished and titled it "Inamorata"

EDIT: picked up by RealMusic Recordings. Will post info about release as things pan out.

EDIT: Released thursday, Feb 23. I wish I could change the damn title of this thread so it doesn't say "unfinished" and "untitled"

this aint really my thing. its a bit dreamy for me so i might not be the best person to review, but...

its dreamy in a nice way with a really professional sound to it. melody is nice and the submelodies make the track sound complex and full. im not a great fan of the guitar synth. i would rather hear a more traditional sine or square sound or maybe like a horn or somthing... i think the guitar sounds a bit lacking in power and fullness. a really distorted guitar may sound nice if it works with the track? not too overpowering in the volume stakes tho.

i enjoyed your track

absolutely fantastic song. its like floating on an ocean breeze in the middle of night. LAME. but the song is good.

really, IMO this is the best song ive heard on these boards in weeks.

Hey,
Listening ... Yup really dreamy, I like that sin synth melodie.
I was whole track waiting to the pads to release but never hapenned lol ..
The plucked thing is sweet, some distortion as someone else mentioned would work fine imo.
In overall, nice track mate .
Kopi =o.

During the bass part there seems to be some kind of crackling idk what it is. I think the melody and subtle ones are great along with the atmosphere of the track, the kick tho seems to be a lil too punchy but that is just me.
Great track

elipse, you're right, the bass clips a bit and i need to fix it... i've just been lazy abotu it, and will get around to it.

rich, i should add more distortion to the lead, i'll do that and update teh sample.

i also think i need to subdue the hi's a bit on the percussion, imo.

dj hollen, amazing analogy

kopi luwak, thanks man.

hopefully i'll get around to updating this song soon.

This is indeed amazing stuff. The percussion is awesome. The melodies are very light and dreamy. It's excellent chillout stuff for me ... might just be me, but maybe there's a little too heavy reverb on the sine type synth in the beginning. Anyway, this one has huge potential.

I knew you wouldn't disappoint

Top stuff.

very nice start - but I don't like that kick at all needs somethin a bit softer maybe..I don't know really but all the sounds are very nice - good job.

bump

thanks for the comments and suggestions... i took them into consideration as i finished the song off: "Inamorata"

so here ya go... a longer sample and a teeny bit of breakbeats too (I couldn't help myself)

updated link

Posted by Darkness_Hero on Sep-14-2005 07:37:

the track is very nice, some high frecuencys but thats no problem, lots of atmoshpere, good job.

Posted by RickyM on Sep-14-2005 07:47:

You fixed the kick - sounds less 'up front now' - I didn't think you needed the big kick in a melodic track like this - sounds better now

Posted by Invertika on Sep-14-2005 08:17:

brilliant.

the sidechained bass is done well, and its a great bassline
melodies and mood/atmosphere are absolutely top class
love the little touches in the background too
breakbeats are a bit more subdued than yours and tyler c's trademark, but i don't think that sound would have fitted this, these breaks go perfectly with it.

rocks.

This is Brilliant stuff, definately releasable. One of the best tracks I have heard on these boards lately. I love the little sequence that you use underneath the lead, that is sheer brilliance.

The bass is also very deep and driving. There really are no pointers here. This track could have been on the Ibiza cd of Armin van Buuren. It reminds a bit of Tilt - The world doesn't know which also was an A class track.

great track!

very nice track, mate

the ambience and melody together is just great, one of your best works, in my opinion,

top quality

nice mellow track, nice flow and very well produced,
the melody though seems to late 90'sh for me...well not the melody, more the mellow chimes as the instrument.
besides that its very mellow yet good energy at the same time.
Not really my style, but what i can here, well produced.

and take a look at some of your levels, tends to get a bit noisy at times.

good work!

thanks for all the comments

i think i might subdue the white noise sweep a little bit, i don't hear anything horribly off besides that.

any other crit? what kind of DJs would appreciate this kinda style? only ones that immediately pop to my head is Schulz and Perry O'Neil

Posted by djHollen on Sep-15-2005 18:35:

the new sample is, again, fantastic. i do like the kick the way it is now. if this is released im buying a copy.

Armin Van Buuren for sure as well. Listen to his Universal Religion 2004, Armada at Ibiza cd. Your track would fit in perfectly.

Cheers!

I will be seeing him oct 1st in D.C. Perhaps i'll pass a demo to him and hopefully he won't toss it in the trash before listening to it.
