Well only seven more days until i can order my technics sl1210 mk3 decks, but im still wanting to know the following:
Where can i find the best deal for technics sl1210 mk 3 in black color. And do i get good carts with the deal, if not what carts should i get and wheres the best prices?
I also want to know what sort of mixer i should buy with the decks
(Definentley want a three channel!)
And thats it really! Please bear in mind that it has to be in the united kingdom and that my total budget cant exceed around 1200.
Cheers!
best tip for buying equipment i ever got was from a fellow TA'er. checkout www.sixstardj.com and see their prices. black 1210mkII's are $449 a piece so about 550 pounds for a pair. they've got a bunch of great mixers at reasonable prices as well. if you were from LA you could go in the store and get even better deals than that. good luck hunting. btw, nice location! cheers!!!

$449 USD is 550 UK pounds? i hope youre kidding man, cuz youre like waaaaay off
the fine print says $449 a piece = $998 for two or "a pair" = roughly 550 pounds for "a pair". sorry to confuse anybody. i will try to be more clear in the future. and as i was typing this i just realized what an odd word "pair" is.

Nice one! Now its just the carts and the mixer to worry about.
thats alot o cash for just one table....try 123dj.com for 1200's starting @ about $400 a piece

Gotta be 1210's cuz i think the silver colour looks too tacky, and has to be in the uk. No point getting a cracking deal and then discovering i have to pay 100's for a shipping fee!
buy a good vestax or pioneer they got a great mixer's
Have you tried www.htfr.com? How does this set up sound to you:
2 x Technics sl1200 Mk3 (@ 389 each)
1 x Vestax PCV-175 3 channel mixer. (@ 289)
Total: 1074.50 (Including shipping - 7.50 shipping for all that? What a bargain!)
the Technics come with Ortofon OM pro carts, which are very good, although not the best. But they will certainly do to begin with, much better than the standard Stanton 500 IMHO.
The mixer is a very good quality mixer to start off with. Not as good as the Allen & Heath Xone 62, but then again it doesn't cost 800 like the A&H does. The PCV fader will last for ages and Vestax sound quality is excellent.
This set up will definitely get you started on the right track.
Have you got headphones? If not I would reccommend the Sony MDR-7506 for 139 from htfr, or if this is too much then the Technics RPDJ-1200 for 99. Another excellent set of headphones is the Sony MDR-V6, which cost about $80 in the states, but are very hard to get hold of here. Stay clear of the Sony MDR-V700DJ at all costs!

Ok ok i think i have found the ultimate deal, just need to get a few opinions on this one before i click on the order button:
http://www.htfr.com/products/browse...&catno=MR71364&
Does anybody know anything about this new red sound infader mixer? It has 3 crossfaders for treble bass and mid, and its also the worlds first digital mixer. Any input? Cheers folks!
I was going to suggest this package, but a) the headphones are close to useless, and b) you said you wanted at least a 3 channel mixer and the Redsound Infader has 2. It is a very good quality mixer though, however I'm not so sure about the point of having 3 crossfaders. Complete waste of time if you ask me, you can just use the eq controls. But still, a good mixer.
