So good, so fresh. Sounds like he just crossed the best of techno with a slight hint of french house funkyness.. the good kind of french house funkyness. Actually i'm talking out of my ass, this probably doesn't relate to french house at all. Just listen to it.
Trentemoller - Le Champagne
from the single Naked Music presents Trentemoller EP (2003)
Not too far from the previous track, just less deep and techy but more danceable. Features a truly awesome whiny ultra-high-pitched main lead. I love those. Many people already know this track, if you don't go and get it.
John D�hlback - Sugar (All You Need) (Original Mix)
from the single Sugar (All You Need) (2005)
Track of the year for me so far, need I say more? Not getting even nearly the recognition it deserves. I tend to hate house diva vocals, but this is just way too good to be disliked. Features a trancy bassline mixed with lots of funkyness.
ADJD - Believe
from the single Stocktown Bizniz EP (2004)
Another pretty well known track, James Holden spun this for months last year according to tracklists. Repetitive 4/4 track for the dancefloor with lots of acid bits. Very well placed acid bits.
Joris Voorn - Flow
from the single A Dedicated Town (2005)
Well this isn't necessarily Joris' best, neither it is particularly innovative. Has his typical atmospheric deep techno strings and some generic talking samples. Ok, I'm breaking the thread's "rules" already, this isn't exceptionally great. But deserves a listen.
add more tracks to the list.. old, new, doesn't matter, neither the genre. just needs to be good.
Wizzy Noise - Congee

Melodic psychedelic music without the full on bassline that is familiar in so many cases. Clever percussive works and great layering gives it a feel of the good old days of goa almost at times. Won't set everyones aural senses on fire, but definitely good.
Paragliders - Fisheye (Deep Mix)

Oliver Lieb's return to the paragliders guise, which was only on a limited press vinyl, but also available fully at www.beatport.com and is highly recommended. Great percussive elements, bassline & beats make this one of the best 'trance' (i say this loosely) tracks of the year. While not bringing anything majorly new that Oliver hasn't before, the quality here surpasses many modern releases

A mad techno remix from Pierre Jerksten here of a track from trance.nu admin Stian Klo and Ozzy Can. Fine buildup and mindblowing percussive works. Mixes almost perfectly with Fisheye

That remix of Surroundings is far from "exceptional", as it's based on the same bassline blueprint Pierre Jerksten has recycled dozens of times already.

Simply a sublime piece of ambient. Oliver puts all of his melodic sensibilities and subtleties into one majestic journey of a track.
Hell - Herz (Disko B)
Hell teams up with Mijk van Dijk to create a superb track. Starting off in deep, dubby water to gradually build into a rich, detailed techno track with plenty of contrast.
Ja�a - Missing (Chilltribe)
Possibly the best track on the compilation "Quality Relaxtion", from the label of Per Kristian Slagsvold, one of the busiest psy/chill heroes on the Oslo clubbing circuit. Here he has roped in french goa connaiseurs Ja�a, who duly deliver a fantastic ambient track with strings to die for towards the end.
Derek Howell - Your Touch (unsigned)
Rushing, ecstatic feel to this one. Fits the title to a tee, and just maybe it would be what trance would sound like if people still bothered to experiment completely with trance as a genre?
Dom & Roland - Imagination (Moving Shadow)
My all time favourite drum 'n bass track. The pitch black, apocalyptic soundscape spells "doom" in big letters with one of the scariest intros ever, before the snarling subbass and rock hard beats pounce on the listener and pummel the speakers into submission. The mere thought of hearing this on a giant rig is overwhelming enough.

mentioned this tune in threads before and i am really a fan of it. tune from last year off of hybrid's y4k cd and it might be a little overlooked because of it. anyway, not a very complex tune, but has a great beat that kicks in fantastic like. i'd love to hear it in a club.

Well, I had to put this here. My favourite track, really energetic! I love those heartbeat sounds.
Dimension - White Dove [Azwan Transmissions] �
Intense, the strings(?) just go higher & higher!! Also the clap sound is cool. A2, "Ascension To Altitude" is great too, powerful bassline.
V-Ger & Soma - Dark Tendencies [Eschnapur Records] �
I wish there would be more tracks like this. Most wicked acid I've ever heard!! "Morrison's Legacy" is kinda in the same style.
Mystic Force - Mystic Force [Psy-Harmonics] �
Very, very beautiful track. There's also a 15 minutes long Psychic Harmony Remix on MFS. Close your eyes...
Dyno - Galaxi [Iron Sound Records] �
I remember when I heard this from my friends World Of Trance 4 CD, I liked it straight from the beginning. This seems to be hard to find, I'd be interested in hearing the A side track, "Delica".

Thomas Schumacher - Tainted Schall
God, I love the Tainted Love melody *tam tam*. It's nothing perfect, but It's a pretty cool track to put in a middle of a set, and the Schall vocals(?) are addicting. Great techy feeling to the tune...
White Stripes - Blue Orchid (Dirty Funker Blue Mix) (Sample)
What a great blend of rock, house and a little bit groovy-techy sounds. Great guitar riff from the original song (the White Stripes are pretty good too), and the vocals sit just perfect on it. Dirty Funker is one of my fav producers.
Dynamix II - Dreamscape (1993)
Appears on their album "Bass Planet". Through the first parts of the track you get maybe four or five seperate melodies including a neato deep bassline (of course), which creates a nice soundscape, but the best part is at the end/climax when they all come together to make this really excellent harmony. Too bad it only lasts seconds. Pretty little track, though I do prefer DII's less flighty Electro.
Bass 305 - Ocean Dance (1995)
Appears on their album "Departure". Again another flighty number written by an Electro producer. The harmony of the sax, the guitar, and the bass is parfect. Parfect! The chanting seems slightly out of place, but it's forgivable.
Bass Junkie - R-M-T-S (1999)
From the album "Bass Time Continuum". Alright time for a more straightforward track. Phil Klein blasts the sub bass and Electro beats behind his own scratches that he warps and tweaks to make them sound like they're eminating from Area 51 just after that ship crashlanded in that place, you know. Out of this world. Just like it should be.
Notsignal - Intromental (1994)
This is from one of the two 12" released by the collaboration of Anthony Rother and Morgan Geist on Heiko Laux's label, Kanzleramt. This wasn't quite what I expected from these two given the rest of their discography. The first minutes are an intense soundscape of ambient drums and strings and blah blah blah. But then the body of the track comes in and you realize that this is a really good Acid Trance track? These guys? Acid Trance? I guess so. It's good stuff though.
I feel dirty now.
