Real Clemson University Experience here
I am from Houston, but just recently transfered out to Clemson. I also DJ. With that in mind...
I had met a guy who did house parties and told him what I did, he said he would be down for me to play at a few. Tonight he called me up and told me to come down to perform at a house party. I really had no interest in getting drunk I just wanted to play. So I packed all my gear, all my sound, and my folding table drove out to the house and set up.
Now come to find out this guy isnt the one actually hosting it, these two girls are. One is very cool mellow and laid back and the other is talking about "I dont wanna hear any 'Techno' music". I really didnt give a shit cuz I had went thru the trouble of moving all my stuff plus the place was starting to fill up so I cut the bs rap cd that was on and started my set with a piano solo track to get the uplifting mood started.
Well a few mins into the intro I start getting a couple wtf faces from the crowd, understandable, it sounds very New Age lol. Well next I drop in the classic "Dirty Sticky Floors" and now that a beat has been dropped I began to see girls start moving their hips and things start looking good. This is where it all went wrong.
So the superbitch from before who does own the place comes up to me and says "You're going to have to turn this off", I return with "Well I brought all my stuff out here and I'm damn well gonna play so just sit back and dont worry about it". She then follows with "No, I'm TELLING you to turn it off, it's MY party". This is where I lost it.
I got extremely angry probably the most angry I've been in a year. Girls were beginning to dance while this was going on so obviously other people were having a good time, this superbitch decided to give me shit for something I was doing free of charge, with all my own equipment, for basically just a good time. Well she didnt see it that way.
She wanted me to play HER music, thats right, she wanted a DJ to bring all of his equipment, set up, just to play the bullshit rap mp3s off her laptop.
Around this time I had gotten very angry, dirty words were exchanged and I came this close to slapping this bitch. A couple people including the guy who brought me down there had came in at this point and tried calming me down but I wasnt having it.
I cut the levels and she turned on her little karaoke machine to the local rap radio station I got pissed and went outside for a while. I came back in and they wanted me to chill out and have a drink with them, I said "Fuck your drink", started to tear down my stuff and left.
This was the biggest waste of time in my life EVER. Now I know I'm going to end up seeing that bitch around campus again sooner or later and probably end up losing it again. All I can say is fuck her, fuck Clemson, fuck South Carolina.
shit, this is very unfortunate, sorry! just meet up with a girl named genny, known as thombiznitch in here. she rocks , and you can play at our parties antyime!
im sorry to hear about yoru incident but that has nothign to do with SC or Clemson... that can and will happen at every university in america... but bummer it happened...

dont take this one little set back out on south carolina and clemson as a whole.

how about, when we all go up to clemson to party (cuz i know it'll happen)....you spin for us hehe.
then you'll get a nice crowd full of appreciation

Yeah this could happen at any university you must understand how angry AND sleep-deprived I was when I wrote that. I find it alot harder to find the people who are into it over here, the number is seeming waaaay less than back at home, but who thought to turn to our very own TA's for that? 
Scamsel, I'm totally down to play at any party that girl Genny is throwing. I will PM you (and/or her) my number.
Thanks for the support everyone this is my first semester and first time moving away from Houston after 13 yrs, so far its been nothing but hell, but hoping for a brighter future!

For sure I mean Houston scene kinda died down a lot after the Transit scandel, but a good amount of warehouse parties and even big events like the Junkie XL, AvB, Oakenfold tour that came thru town just before I left. But Houston is NOTHING compared to ATX, SA, or especially DALLAS!!
Atlanta actually seems like a cool scene I'm making it out to see Above and Beyond on the 23rd for sure, we should get a TA meetup for that! I might also make it out next weekend for Christopher Lawerence but I'm not completely sure on that yet.
