Help from ppl in N. American High school

ok..now this is kinda out there, but I figure you guys are open, and talk alot so heres my question.
I work for a mobile DJ company, and we get sponsors to give us prizing and stuff, and what I wanna know is, What do you, as high school kids want as prizing? Right now we have shirts, coupons for free food, Cell phones/pagers, glow sticks, hair products.

What else do you realistically want? *I mean, its not like we can give away a set of Tech 12s or anything* Any ideas? any hints? Im only 20, and im already feeling sorta out of touch with the high school kids....eep!!

The prizes ur giving away now would be enough for me. Maybe gift certificates to cd shops. Other than that you got it. I wouldn't wear the shirts tho (I haven't seen em but ive never worn a shirt that i won from anywhere)

CDs are in the works...as are movie tix and movie promotinal products(like posters, keychains etc) Weve got the deal w/ subway..4 free footlong subs for each school, and when we get huge dances, a free party sub(6 feet of sub)software is tough, we used to have PSX hats and shirts, but playstation stopped that to focus on PSX2.

oh and the shirts we give away, they say baked not fried on the back. They are McCain Pizza pocket t-shirts, kinda lame, but the stoners love to win em. sooo...yeah. Thanx for the ideas guys. now onto seeing if we could get hockey tix...being sponsored by the NHL would be fuckin sweet...or would you go about it by being sponsored by each team??? give away 2 jerseys and a pair of tix to a game....hmm...Ill have to look into that. Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal.. We do shows in all those cities....ill hafta look into that

companies I think ill go aftere HMV(they have CDs, movies, posters and Gift certificates, are nation wide, and are in most cities), Blockbuster/Rogers Which is more prevalent?? Who would you rather win a free rental or free movie from? Movie chains..Cineplex and Famous Players, hmm..who is better out east?

I really gotta look into this shit.

umm...were a canadian company...we had thoughts of expanding to the US, but the insurance and safety of both DJ and Equipment was in question..so we decided to stay in safe canada.

anyways, free cd's dont really work. unles they are some good cds that kids really want, forget it. and how do you know what cd's every kid wants? so the best way to go is gift certificates. same goes for movies, rentals, clothes, stuff like that. all in all, gift certificates are the best way to go, for any place and kids love them. oh yeah, lose lame tshirts too candy would be good also and kids just LOVE glow sticks, or anything that glows. everything else has been already named: special events, sports games, stuff like that

see we have to promote them too...gift certificates arent the easiest thing to promote. Hard to promote a gift certificate. Its easy to get a product name out when u have a hard item. Like a shirt, or a CD. Candy is an idea....hmm...I wonder. ill think about this. I prefer to give Gift certificates out, cuz itll bring revenue to a company, but hard products are easier to promote...and USUALLY thats all the sponsor cares about.
